Pokémon Detective Pikachu Trailer

mxxcon says...

This is very very deep in the uncanny valley territory.
It looks just weird.
It feels like those fan art drawings and clips of "realistic" pokemon.

It also has a feeling of that supposedly horrible DBZ live-action movie.

I just find Naruto to be fantastically entertaining, especially the end of the first show (as in episodes after 300 or whatever it is, hulu makes it easy) and all of the second. It's just gotten more and more fun over the years... if you can stand the 15 minute episodes and the DBZ-esque teaser episodes. The series starts out really basic and gets better as it goes along, but yeah, it's just basic entertainment and by no means artistic.
Fair warning on Lain... it only gets weirder, but its short.
P.S. The only way you'll likely find the Memories series (3 short movies) is through the internet for sure... and if you want to buy them on a disc, you'll probably pay quite a bit unless it's a bootleg or something.

oh..i totally agree.
thats why i made the reference of maybe where robo-tech got its inspiration.
then i saw ghost in the shell...BOOM..mind blown.
star blazers was the show that got me to appreciate a japanese way of story telling.
though sometimes its TOO much,my boys had me watching DBZ,not bad..i liked it,but jeez..sometimes they would just drag a plot to death where i am yelling at the tv C"MOOOOOON.

haha, I can not stand Dragonball.. well I mean, it's not horrid in and of itself, it's just not for me. I was contracting for this one company once and this young couple where talking to each other. The guy was going on about getting his girl into Dragonball, trying to sell her on it and I could tell she wasn't looking forward to the experience. "How many episodes are there?", she asked at one point and I just remember thinking, "You have NOOO idea.". He had the complete collection >.<
And I do remember reading once loooong time ago that Star Wars was one of the biggest influence for the original Macros saga, namely the dog fighting space battles. Could very well be that Starblazers was too with it's continues story arc. I kinda get the impression though there where lots of other such anime's at the time that we never saw. Robotech is three independent cartoons from the same studio brought together and rewritten for the Robotech storyline after all.

I'm not a big anime head, I just try and catch the good ones. Right now I'm looking into Gantz, and Cowboy Beebop easily ranks as my favorite.

Starblazers is another good one, and yes I watched that one too. >D Robotech had a much more dynamic story to it though. Things changed much more dramatically, and well.. as you can see the animation was often pure eye candy.
