You're right, I'll look into it

A small observation that you might be able to fix in 4.1...

At the bottom of the page where it lists who upvoted the video you're currently looking at, sometimes a username will be on the far right with their star/gem/crown wrapped to the beginning of the next line.

Pretty sure you can wrap each name & icon in a span and specify no wrapping in CSS.

Can you provide a screenshot of how it's completed screwed? I'm using FF3.5 and everything looks like sunshine and rainbows to me. And commenting works.

You should probably try doing a hard reload as maybe your browser is using old javascript and css files, which could explain the two things you reported.

Hard reset didn't work at the time, but problems with formatting noted seem to have been solved. Thanks to all y'all for all y'all's hard work!

I replied in the original post and addressed the issue of the DMV.

...and I don't think the government needs to create jobs, but they need to NOT TAKE THEM AWAY.

Why have we been scaling back regulations that were set in place because of the Great Depression? Why is the government spending MY money on things I don't need?

I beg your forgiveness for the state of my channel's CSS file. I'm not very good at that stuff.

How on earth are public schools a monopoly when private schools exist? And even the most extreme libertarian agrees that the government should provide regulation and public goods. Arguing against the DMV borders on anarchy.

I'm actually missing the 1920s right now. Even Coolidge and the Republicans then understood that government regulation can increase wealth and prosperity.

In reply to you, deedub, not everything is about job creation and wealth. And everything eventually recovers in the long run, but people are forced to live in the short run.

Way to make me feel like a shithead. I was only saying that the text was hard to read - didn't know you were going to call me out on it. Sorry, wasn't trying to trash your CSS skills.

A monopoly doesn't mean you are the only competition, just that they must have "sufficient control over a particular product or service to determine significantly the terms on which other individuals shall have access to it." Even the private schools have to accept the terms of teaching education provided by the government. A private school cannot just teach however or whatever it chooses, therefore it's controlled by the government. Thus wouldn't you agree public schools are a monopoly?

Also, are you implying that if we didn't have the DMV there would be anarchy? I beg to know more!

Firefox 3.5 Treats Videos Like Web Pages

As a web developer, I have no doubt you will learn the new features in HTML5 when the protocol is released, to be able to use them properly.
What I found more interesting is the video player swap, without interrupting the actual stream. At the moment, any attempt to do something like that would involve reloading the embedded object completely, as far as I know.

The HTML5 spec will not be out for a very long time. The same stuff was talked about when the IPv5 spec came out. Look at the adaptation rates of that. Not to mention most sites fail simple WC3 and CSS validation right now.

Apple, Nokia and other firms have spoken against the usage of Ogg codecs handling video and audio. Mostly because they have their own formats to protect and promote, like Quicktime.

Just color me skeptical.

Time for a new Sifter? (Sift Talk Post)

I think the font is Verdana, made very bold with CSS - though Lucky could say for sure.

Here's the CSS:
a.siteid {
   float:left;
   color:#4FB3E3;
   font-weight:bold;
   margin-left:10px;
   font-size:2.5em;
   font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;
}
Looks like big, fat Tahoma.

Thanks. I care way more about fonts than I should.
