How can we be sure the cat isn't at fault here? There's not enough evidence to show what happened before the cat was impaled. Maybe it was self-defense. Just some grandma sitting at home watching Maury when this crazed feline comes in, hopped up on catnip, and goes right for her jugular. If she didn't have her crossbow with her...well, would you have been happier with "Sweet Old Grandmother of 12 Mauled by Vicious Cat"? Let's not jump to conclusions.

FWIW, that's not a serious crossbow. The real things need to be drawn with a crank or other mechanical device. Their acquisition is licenced as firearms in Canada. This one's a kid's toy.

I actually grew up in the bay (hawkes bay/napier/hastings) which is one centres for mob activity. saw a few scary fights back in the day. I actually recall one occasion where someone ran over a Mob members dog so they went out to hunt him down with a crossbow. very civilised.
