Star Trek Into Darkness - International Trailer

EvilDeathBee says...

Agreed.

However, the Lindelof association does give me worries after Prometheus, but Cowboys and Aliens was fun

So many Debbie Downers. Must be a new hipster thing to rip on new Star Trek, kinda like every SNL vid/thread has some boorish dolt who has to tell everyone that they haven't watched SNL for years because it hasn't been funny since the 70s.

Well... I've been a fan of all the Star Trek series (including "Enterprise") and movies since TOS, and this looks awesome. I used to record the audio of TOS on my Realistic cassette recorder when I was 6-7 years old, and I can still irritate the hell out of anybody in the room by speaking the lines of an entire episode before the actors do. LOVE Star Trek. The first movie established that the timeline is different now. Storywise, prior Star Trek canon is largely moot. Get over it.

You don't want to go see it? Don't. Easy peasy. Anyhoo, you probably all meant to click on this vid.

I did this throughout my whole childhood. Started in the late 70s, before we had the metal chutes, so the adults would have to rope them and wrestle them down like old-school cowboys. I had to watch this just to see if anythings changed. Looked like he had an electric iron, which is new to me (we still used fire last time I did it), and the one, most gruesome thing the video didn't cover was what you did when you got a male calf.
Interesting though. How antiquated of a practice is this anyhow? It was originally used to identify your cattle so no one stole them, but does that still happen??

Shelving System to Hide your Valuables, Guns & More Guns

Nice shelving and cabinet system. But putting this video on the internet just gave away all of its secrets.

as for everything else.

Guns are a part of U.S. culture. like Cowboys, Cars and invading small countries that look at us funny.
Why people collect them or own them does not matter. They can so they do. Your opinions on it also do not matter. Simple saying you do not like them is more than enough. Forcing your opinion on the matter just makes it more likely people will ignore you or blow you off as some self righteous ass. Just like most who will read this will do the same to me.

Potential international enemies will think TWICE before invading America because they are the most heavily armed civilian population on Earth.

This isn't paranoia?

The USA has the largest military in the world, by a factor of about a zillion. How exactly do you envisage this nightmare scenario playing out, and who is the enemy?

Mexicans? Canadians?

If it's anyone else I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to enlist in the army, learn how to use a weapon, and do your part as a soldier rather than a cowboy.
It's not going to happen. Really.
Children who are not taught properly about firearms are, generally, viewing them as toys to play with. Children who are properly taught about firearm safety, use, etc., are much more likely to view them properly; as very dangerous tools.

So you're offering free classes? And you want to live in a country where every child is taught how to use a firearm?

I'd prefer a society where my kids play too much video games, so I tell them enough already go outside and play!

I'd rather that than feel like I live in a society where I have to teach a seven year old how to kill people (sorry, defend oneself with a deadly weapon).

You know, like Liberia or Mozambique.

This is an excellent series. I saw it recently, after watching a similar doco last year,'On the Trail of Genghis Khan', by an Australian who rode from Mongolia to Hungary on a horse. Both fascinating, yet very different. The motorbike trek took 3 months, the horse trek took three years. Ewan and his friend Charlie had huge amounts of expensive equipment and a support crew. Tim had three horses, a tent, a dog and a satelite phone. Each had their own unique set of problems. All of them were pushed to new limits. Excellent stuff.

What I like about the trail of Genghis Khan comparison is the fact that Horses and Motorcycles are very much the same. Motorcycle is just a modern version of a horse, with some of the same trappings such as leather and a cowboy loner outsider sort of image attached to it.

This is soooooo gay!

Without Planned Parenthood, what's left for women in the US?

Stu says...

Well, to those who don't realize, Texas is probably doing this kind of stuff just so it makes more sense when they leave the US. Texas is going to be it's own country and probably just kick out everything that doesn't wear a cowboy hat or an apron.
