Theft by Deception - a history of tax law

Artistic Trick Billiards

I think he was playing the music on his computer system, because every time he struck a ball the music was drowned out. To top it off, the footage was slowed down, so especially so on the microphone.

I would say he was playing the music because thats what he uses to get in the zone. O and listen to the glass thing, when it is struck, and falls this footage is slowed way down. Its a good sift, and the music fit i thought, lol.

The Number 23 - Trailer

HorsSujet says...

I remember a german film called "dreiundzwanzig" (23) which told the true story of Karl Koch, a german hacker in the late seventies who after reading Robert Anton Wilson books on the iluminati started seeing the number 23 everywhere. He hacked into the west's sensitive computer systems and sold data he stole from, among others, the Pentagon, to the KGB.
He died in 1989 in an apparent suicide which has been said to be a murder.

In fact, 23dians are people who witness the number 23 in significant places and circumstances. It's a common sympton of people suffering from apophenia (a psychiatric disorder in which patients see patterns everywhere, think john nash in a beautiful mind).

Farhad's comment is probably spot on, but still it's intriguing that such a number should get more cultural significance than, for example, 24 or 22.

Check out the wikipedia articles on 23 and Karl Koch or Hagbard Celine. Interesting reading.

"Kiss the Girl"- from The Little Mermaid

Goofball_Jones says...

This was also the last Disney movie to use actual painted cells in the animation. After this movie Disney switched to an all computer system. The drawings were still hand-drawn, but the coloring/painting, compositing and effects were all done on a computer using a system called CAPS which was developed in part with Pixar.

awesome - jet fighter flying incredibly close to mountains (Swiss Air Force)

oligopol says...

You're right. those are Mirage III RS. The swiss air force had 60 of them since 1965. ironically they received completely new electronics and computer systems (i bet expensive ones) shortly before they were dismissed in 1999. few of them served for training and reconnaissance until 2005. i had to deal with them during my military service in air defence, and though i'm kind of a pacifist and environmentalist, i have to admit they're both beautiful and impressive and it was fascinating to watch them.
