Cleaning the Cobra Pit wearing Flip-flops

AeroMechanical says...

No, no, no, you're doin it wrong.

The proper way to clean a cobra pit is with a flamethrower. Cleans the cobras right out of there, no problem.

This also works on tarantulas, scorpions, hissing cockroaches, the black meat of the giant aquatic Brazilian centipedes, and clowns.

Killing Us Softly: Advertising's Image of Women

KnivesOut says...

Yet you use ad hominem attacks to deride the speaker. You, sir, are a hypocrite of the highest order.

GOOD DAY SIR.>> ^Winstonfield_Pennypacker:

Clearly you have your own issues with women to deal with. My guess is that you should learn a lot if you talked to one.
Ad hominem balderdash. I respect and honor all women far more than most - but JK voided any intellectual respect with her foolishness. She is foolish not because she's a woman, but because she's prejudiced toward others and treats them with disrespect on a far deeper level than any advertiser does. My attitude towards her is not because I'm a man - but because she's a hypocritical git. I rarely unload at a person as I did above, but this lowly cockroach deserves it 10 times over.
Not saying all ads are great. They're not. But the presumption that they are the primary motivating factor in creating societal mores is a canard. Ads do not create society. They reflect it. If we waved a magic wand and all ads vanished tomorrow, the bedrock of "what standard to people hold themselves to?" would not change one iota. Cram a bunch of average, plain folks into sitcoms and movies and the "ideal beauty" will still be what people look for.
And for this hypocritical sleaze to insult the character and nature of countless men and women because of her own insecurities, prejudices and cowardice? For money? There is no language fit to sufficiently convey just how low that is.

Apology for Taunting Dying Little Girl (given next day)

The pressure got to these a-holes. They will scatter like cockroaches in the light of the sun. And by the Sun I mean the internet. Live by the internet, die by the internet. Was it just yesterday that A Sifter turned this case over to 4chan?

Edited out all the quotes cuz it looks like shit.

@dannym...
You cannot give any reason, fact, or study that would lead me to believe that a person causing the damage portrayed in this video was not a seriously fucked up cockroach. (Apologies to any roaches in the audience) If the woman receiving said damage actually enjoyed it, rather than simply endured it for whatever reason, then she's wired wrong and the aggressor is taking advantage of her. You seem to say that if "they don't complain, then they like it." That's fucked up.

I am going to assume you are coming at this from some sort of libertarian ideal, rather than someone who got a chubby watching this.

It's obviously setup. When the "Cockroach Attacks" he backs away but not enough to fully knock over the picture-board so he swings his right hand backwards to make sure it goes down.

OR

It is real and his right arm swinging back is an attempt to catch the picture-board.

Ugh! Who Knows... I'm not fucking Sherlock Holmes for Christ's sake!

Israeli Woman Finds Out BF Is Arabic, Sues Him For Rape

qualm says...

Israel was a strange country. In the summer and fall of 1992 you'd have found me in either Tel Aviv or within the walls of the old city of Jerusalem. I often went for long walks in the evenings and it happened several times that on Allenby Street or maybe Dizengoff that an Israeli would strike up a conversation and then quickly jump to explain how "we are the same you and me, but the Arabs are animals." Or it was dogs. Or cockroaches. It always shocked me and I'd look at my watch and say something about being late.

I'd been having a wonderful time playing backgammon and chain-smoking Nelsons with the Palestinian and Egyptian friends I'd made at the open-sided cafes in Arab east Jerusalem.

Israeli racism is not unique. Franz Fanon wrote the definitive work on the racism of colonialism. (The Wretched of the Earth)

Gabriel Ash is an Israeli journalist, originally from Romania. Ash's article "Diagnosing Benny Morris: The Mind of a European Settler" is a lucid and powerful indictment.

*******

Israeli historian Benny Morris crossed a new line of shame when he put his academic credentials and respectability in the service of outlining the "moral" justification for a future genocide against Palestinians.

Benny Morris is the Israeli historian most responsible for the vindication of the Palestinian narrative of 1948. The lives of about 700,000 people were shattered as they were driven from their homes by the Jewish militia (and, later, the Israeli army) between December 1947 and early 1950. Morris went through Israeli archives and wrote the day by day account of this expulsion, documenting every "ethnically cleansed" village and every recorded act of violence, and placing each in the context of the military goals and perceptions of the cleansers.

Israel's apologists tried in vain to attack Morris' professional credibility. From the opposite direction, since he maintained that the expulsion was not "by design," he was also accused of drawing excessively narrow conclusions from the documents and of being too naive a reader of dissimulating statements. Despite these limitations, Morris' The Birth of the Palestinian Refugees Problem, 1947-1949 is an authoritative record of the expulsion.

Towing a car from a tight space

Payback says...

When I drove truck, I preferred the old winch and sling system for repo work. The damage caused to the vehicles were the responsibility of the cockroach delinquent owners. Gave me a good feeling when I could cause grief to some fucktard who bought a car beyond his means. You could tell the ones. Corvette driver living in low income housing or a basement suite, etc etc. Anyone who "lost their job" or suffered some sort of setback usually made a deal with the financing company to either keep their ride by paying interest only for a while, or got something cheaper. I would totally toast anyone who would try to hide their car or park it hard.

You won't find this sort of tech on anything other than repo or parking lot impound trucks. AAA trucks are designed for safety of the vehicle, not speed of getaway.

I sincerely doubt that these guys would even do the jobs that immigrants are willing to do, so that they can get out of those cockroach infested, overcrowded houses. And why should we begrudge them that? Why shouldn't they want to better their lives? isn't that everyone's wish?
uneducated trash, that's what these guys are.

Stephen Fry's beautiful comments on a world without God

ponceleon says...

All I need to do is look at that Jewel Wasp zombifying a cockroach to know that the universe is pure nature and doesn't give a shit about any one being.

Eat or be eaten.

To me it is logical to be "good" to each other because it helps with our survival, but don't believe for one second that our happiness is in any way a consideration in the way the universe works.

Hmmm the classification or tags on this video are a philosophical mess. We are claiming that an animal is evil by the method of which it preys on its food source? Are lions evil? Cockroaches spread all sorts of disease, why isn't it "good" to mess with them?
Meh, very cool video, but I don't agree with stating that it is in any way "evil." Nature is nature

I can't help but think of the Ichneumon Wasp, another parisitoid wasp about which Charles Darwin wrote:

"I own that I cannot see as plainly as others do, and as I should wish to do, evidence of design and beneficence on all sides of us. There seems to me too much misery in the world. I cannot persuade myself that a beneficent and omnipotent God would have designedly created the Ichneumonidae with the express intention of their feeding within the living bodies of Caterpillars"

I agree with you that the wasp isn't evil or even malicious. But it is, intentionally or not, cruel. And I think it's one of the best instincts of humans that we are often troubled by the cruelty and suffering we see in nature.

Though listed as aggressive and territorial, Monster Manual lists wasps as "Always Neutral".

Lions as well.
