Player (1978) Baby Come Back

Ram Jam - Black Betty

Andrew Bird - Why (isn't he more famous?)

bamdrew says...

... also, two possible reasons why he's not more famous

1. his live shows are incredible. he shouldn't even release albums, just live dvds. that said, he gains followers by his live show, where he plays in front of maybe 300 people a night (150 of which are probably already in love with him). So much of his appeal is his personality and charm... whenever I've seen him its as if he is singing only for myself and my girlfriend... this is difficult to get across on a record.

2. his music might be a little challanging to market... I mean, what is it? indie-folk-jazzy-loop-classical-rock music?

(p.s. fame is a bitch, anyhow)

Pink Floyd - High Hopes

Farhad2000 says...

Pink Floyd are an English rock band that earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and as they evolved, became widely known as pioneers of progressive rock music. Pink Floyd are known for their philosophical lyrics, classic rock songwriting, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music's most successful and influential acts, the group has sold over 250 million albums worldwide, and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone.

The Doors: G L O R I A

mlx says...

OK, people, I guess I have to stand up for this one...

This is Jim Morrison in his prime. He's is off the wall with Van Morrison's 'Gloria' which is probably the most covered rock standard ever. Released 17 years after his death in Elektra's concert compilation 'Alive, She Cried' the video shows Morrison's wanton craziness which fueled both his life and death. If you've ever called yourself a fan of Classic Rock, then this one deserves your vote.

And thank you, daphne. Rock On!

Kid plays Canon on guitar

fastfret79 says...

This is not the best rendition of this song I've heard and it's not all that difficult to play either (apart from the sweep picking bits - a technique I find difficult)
Maybe I'll post some Yngwie Malmsteen for some truly amazing classical/rock guitar
