Sci-Fi Film Reccomendations (Cinema Talk Post)

Children of men is a big favorite of mine, I watched that movie many times, I loved the cinematography and I ended up reading P.D. James' book as well.

I don't think I have seen either Silent Running or Time after Time, I will definitely check them out. Thanks.

Yeah that sunflower scene (and the woman who lived in it) pretty much won me over to the film version...

Having never read the book, I was absolutely floored by the brilliance of this movie. My wife, who normally doesn't like these type of movies, was equally as shocked as to how good it was. The cinematography itself is worth watching (e.g. the sunflowers surrounding the house).

Thanks for the wonderful reminder of this film to us all!

I still want to see it. There's more than JUST plot (although that's important). The comedic elements, the acting, the cinematography, the use of music...movies are a work of art, just like a book. Yeah, you know the hero's going to come out on top, but you want to know HOW, and you want to know the little details that happen on the way there.

*art (although cinematography and the song are not so good/cheesy, the sculptures feature prominently)
*sexuality
Interesting how the images of the sculptures are mixed with the women and men walking in nature.

Brilliant movie (screenplay/acting/casting).
The cinematography was a bit lacking for me, but I think it did its job of being plain.
