Joan Baez - It Ain't Me, Babe (Live 1965), great version

11631 says...

Ah! I remember when Joanie sang this song! (I was 18 and in the service at the time). I never thought I would hear it again, and was resigned to the Byrd's and Dylan versions! It's great, and it ain't me, babe....

John McCain booed giving speech about MLK

I can understand liberal jadrools' personal contempt for McCain, because with liberals it's ALWAYS personal.
Hey, I don't agree with much of what McCain has done in his career, but implying he's a racist because of a few boos by idiots is just pathetic.
You want a Klan member to boo? Go wiki up Robert KKK Byrd, the Dems' "conscience of the Senate."
Barack X is a phony, a substance-less lightweight unfit for the Oval Office. He aligns himself with a racist "preacher" who Gawd-damns America and no lefty bats an eye, but a Black man holds McCain's umbrella and suddenly it's the Jim Crow south again.
Race- and class-obsessed marxist liberals, a shameful lot and a lot of nothing.

1. i agree with your point about mccain.

2. if a "preacher" i knew gave up his student deferment in the past to voluntarily join the Marines and subsequently became a Navy valedictorian and corpsman, became a cardiopulmonary technician, was assigned to the Bethesda Naval Hospital as a member of the President's medical team, and after six years of active duty was awarded three letters of commendation by the White House, I'd say he has the right to damn America as much as he wants.

Spitzer's fall: Greased by GOP dirty trickster Roger Stone?

10688 says...

Couldn't see the end of the video: it jammed at 3/4 the way through.

A country that can't be erotic will be neurotic. People are ashamed of their titillation and profess to abhor what they really want. So they chase out our decent leaders (Clinton, Spitzer) and enable our indecent ones (Bush).

Four thousand dead Americans and nearly a million dead Iraqis isn't a moral issue for Americans, a stain on a dress is.

Puritanism is a menace. And it is a convenient wedge to divide us from our real needs and ethics.

Was Spitzer on to any connection between Bush and Co. and the housing/banking crisis?

Fox Attacks: Black America

Apoptosis says...

While the clip is amusing, I'm not a huge fan of sound bites. Too much of the media is dependent on them. However, I would like to add this quote:
Byrd also said in 2005: "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times . . . and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

QM: If you think Byrd should never be forgiven, then why would you support a drunk/junky like Bush?

I hear conservatives say they only want to talk facts and the liberals only call names. Then the Conservative turns around and calls the liberal names (elitist, anyone). As a moderate, I'd be amused if the two groups weren't trying to tear the country apart.
