George Bush's last night as President

Barack Obama wins the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize (BBC live)

Somalia: Libertarian Paradise

Somalia: Libertarian Paradise

quantumushroom says...

Back to Bush-bashing again? Certainly not over spending. Bush can be blamed for the first $350B bailout while Obama and Democrooks are responsible for $1,287B (the $787B second bailout, the second $350B chunk of the first bailout, and the $150B of "sweeteners" in the first bailout).

In 100 days the Magic Kenyan and his merry band of Tax Cheats have burned through the Monopoly money--no one knows where it's gone and no one's talking--and changed EXACTLY NOTHING.

Hell, anyone who studied FDR's folly for 10 minutes knows it's impossible for a country to spend its way out of debt. But why let the lessons of history get in the way? As Rahm the Ballerina says, "Don't waste a crisis."

Democrat corruption continues unabated, thanks in part to a worshipful mainstream media that are farther from real journalism than Pluto is from the sun.

The libertarian-bashing is perplexing, since they're not in power and never have been.

Is it to take minds off the thieving socialist utopia that has arrived and is a steaming pile of sh;t? I don't blame you.

Do You Have a Job? Consider Yourself Lucky.

quantumushroom says...

So whatever happened to Bush creating jobs? Oops.

Democrats like Barney Finook trying to give everyone a free fking house, that's what.

And the Messiah's promise to rob from the rich to give to the idle poor, that'll get people fired up to start businesses!

Enjoy the Bush-bashing while you still can, libs. Your day of reckoning is here. For the next 4 years we'll be needlessly re-learning how liberal economic theories are sh-t.

Feature suggestion: Sift Pools (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

Really, to be concerned about someone's feelings in a forum like this as they relate to rejection or pretermittance is a bothersome thought-adults should be able to deal, and the kiddies are overdue for some valuable life lessons-passive aggression comes to mind as a developmental factor-

The folks who want to share videos can make some allies, and my suggestion for these users who may feel ignored or passed-over?? Get creative. There is a world of video content out there, 95 percent of which is craptacular, and unworthy of merit. The possibilities are limitless here, and longevity and tenacity goes a long way to hoist oneself up in the ranks, if that is your desire-the newest members who rose quickly in the ranks, seem to have a lot of time on their hands, and paid accounts, hence, more vid slots to to fill and more time ass-warming the computer chair....

Still others, take the lower path-paid accounts and flavor-of-the-week news reports or editorials-about as creative and engaging as e-mail spam. Atheist vs. Christian, bush-bashing, Iraq, etc??....old news, IMLTHO...

The blog feature, yet to be effectively utilized save for a few users, takes into consideration the pool idea, innit???

Videosift fads (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

I can never get my fads to take off....Japanorama has never seemed to go away
Thank God the Canadians can't get Comedy Central stuff to work!!

The latest fad I would hope would implode would be this, white folks trying to be funny, college humor bullshit-1 out of every 30 is inspired comedy-

And thank god the wobal glorming rejects have found a hole to hang out in-

Next question? When will the Obama band wagon lose the spoked wheels of blind, idyllic fervor??

Bush bashing is replaced with cult of personality......humans are quite predictable, eh????

Fox News Reports on Cronyism

BoneyD says...

Truely amazing, but it makes me think Fox is just about the ratings. If they think Bush-bashing is gonna win them viewers, then they'll get in on that action.

This is pretty much how the Bush adminsitration works

Reasons to believe. (Sift Talk Post)

thesnipe says...

Yeah, let's not forget this is the internet, general interest here looms around certain aspects (i.e. Bush-bashing) and that's just the crowd. This is a community of votes and if enough people who sift through the queue like a certain subject it'll get published.

Don't forget about the Islamica collective as well.

Al Gore Interview With Dianne Sawyer

bareboards says...

This is so frustrating to listen to -- Gore's book is not about Bush. He says that repeatedly -- it is about fixing how decisions are made through democratic process. But what are all the banners on the screen about? Bush bashing. I am NOT a fan of Bush. I am a fan of Al Gore. To listen to him struggle to get his point across was painful. The interview with him in the recent Time Magazine is very good. There is an excerpt from the book that is very good.

You know.... (Sift Talk Post)

winkler1 says...

Sounds like Last.Fm for video.

One interesting thing about the Sift: there aren't subscriptions/favorites of people. All sifts are equal , it's very egalitarian. Favoriting people would harden the network effects and create more of a power law distribution than there already is.

That said, I wouldn't say that VideoSift is truly "long tail". Vids have to prove their worth. Videos do well which piggyback a popular meme (Star Wars, Bush-bashing, Monty Python, timelapse). Niche interests (I like the band Ween, speak German, like the Python programming language) probably won't escape the queue. So this encourages more mainstream selections already familiar to the VideoSift audience.

Jon Stewart on Crossfire

kirby215 says...

I don't think you can criticize Jon for not "holding Kerry's feet to the fire". Did you watch that interview? He usually goes into things regarding these issues (meaning politics) with one key thing to find out about, or get across. On Crossfire that key thing was bi-partisan politics is not good for getting things done. It causes deceptions and focuses on winning the House and Senate etc. and gaining control for THE PARTY not for THE PEOPLE. On the Kerry interview he did try to get something out of him. I think his key point for that interview was showing that "Flip-flopping" is always not a bad thing. It shows rethinking, and it shows consideration of topics and watching for changes in knowledge. But he did try to do this without really putting Kerry ahead and making his appearance just a free TV spot for campaigning. He did his share of keeping Kerry from Bush-Bashing. Kerry tried a few times, also to push his own agenda if he was elected president. He's been campaigning, so he very easily can slip into it :-P Jon picked up on it and stopped it.

As for tgeffeney's comment: he makes fun of partisan chicanery, and exposes it. And he makes fun of it in use by both parties. Watch his shows and other public appearances and you'll see that. He is a very large promoter of killing bipartisanship, as am I. Maybe that's why I like him so much :-) To be honest, I know he would never do it, but if he ran for a public office, I'd vote for him. He knows he hasn't got the skills he may need, and knows that the parties will chew him up and spit him out, but he has a level head, and an honest heart. Watch him. He admits his mistakes and he says when he thinks he's made a wrong choice. Politicans dont do that, and they should.

sorry for the long post. This is something I'm passionate about.
