Breaking Bad in the 1950s. Before Cable.

#! Go here an skip to 8:15. Maybe that will work...
Ah it's blocked.
Go see LOOPER (Blog Entry by Sarzy)
Great film. Adrenaline is still coursing through my veins. Just go see it. The less you know the better. I'm going to have to see it again.
I also recommend Director Rian Johnson's first film, Brick. It's a modern day Raymond Chandler style noir set at an Orange County high school.
This guy is a fantastic writer.
...and he also directed Breaking Bad episodes? Really? Total bad ass.
Aaron Paul wins an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor 2012
At first, I thought that Aaron Paul "disappears" into his role as Jesse Pinkman, but then when the actor opened his mouth, I got the feeling that Aaron is Jesse, and isn't doing much 'disappearing' at all...

It would have been nice to see Esposito get it.
I agree with you. Unfair though it may be, overactors generally get more awards than underactors. An understated, nuanced performance like Esposito's is harder to judge than a more flamboyent role where it's easier to see the "acting". This applies to the oscars too. There are exceptions of course, like Kevin Costner (underactor) winning over Bill Paxton (overactor), but in general it's true.

Crystal Blue Persuasion
This really is a lovely song isn't a it? And worked rather well on Breaking Bad.

Do yourself a favor, and hold on...
Season 3 is my favorite (especially the last few episodes) - although, Season 5 as a whole is also great. It's almost like, since they only had 8 episodes, they crammed more into each episodes than they used to...>> ^alien_concept:
I want to watch this sooooooooo bad!!! But alas, I am only on Season 3
Oh I will for sure, thanks

Breaking Bad - Final Scene of Season 5 Episode 8
Nice one, Deano. You're right, the handwriting is clearly a lock but Hank's no dummy. He won't approach Walter with this bit of evidence, strong though it may be, until he gets much much more.
And that's what season 6 will be about. Hank vs. Walter. And a 50 cal machine gun.

Are there any other GBs in Walter's world other than the late Gale Boetticher? Someone other than Gale that Walter could claim the book was from? What was Gretchen's maiden name?
If Hank reviews the evidence to confirm his memory I don't see how Walter can explain it.

All I can come up with is he bought the book from a used bookstore. But that's so weak.

Spoiler alert
Am I the only one who is just a tad let down by this season? Breaking Bad is the best TV since Deadwood in my opinion, but previous series have had me constantly on the edge of my seat. This one, I'm just kind of watching play out. I mean, season 4 - come on. That was gripping.
The last two episodes where Walter just becomes the kingpin and makes piles of money just left me a little empty...
I'm impressed that they like to be different. Working for Fring and the eventual high stakes is actually the kind of plot which they could have ended the entire show with the implication that White takes over, completing his ascent (or descent if you like).
If they didn't take chances they would still be stuck in that RV and we might never have had a Fring.
Season [edit] 5 [/edit] was impressive because it was about getting back into the saddle and the writers engineering the plot developments logically from what went before. I've always loved that about the show and the way they still get to focus on these characters and also extract great acting performances. Jonathan Banks was outstanding. And Dean Norris' awkward face when Walter visited his office was priceless.
As for pure gripping tension I think Dead Freight delivered in spades.
I know what you mean by "empty". I suspect this is how Walter feels after all his accomplishments, most of which seem to be about staying below DEA radar. Could they have moved him to a new location and allow him to develop into a Fring-style respected businessman with a dark secret? But then that would be close to repetition.

How it should have ended.
Pardon me for the shameless plug.
Breaking Bad - Final Scene of Season 5 Episode 8
I deliberately did not write "Hank finds out (the truth) about Walt/Heisenberg/W.W." or something similar, so it would not be a spoiler unless people (who haven't watched the episode) watched the video. Hank did find out about several things throughout the series. Furthermore, the title did not state how he finds out what he finds out. Even if you connected the title to a scenario that happens to be true without having watched the video, you probably already knew that at some time over the course of the show's last season, Hank might eventually happen to find out the truth about Walt. The question is, or was, how he finds out, which the title does not give away. It was the least spoilery title I could think of that still described what the video is about.
If I had called the video "Breaking Bad - Spoiler", nobody would have watched it, because nobody would have known what it's about. However, I hereby apologize to everyone for choosing this title.
