Abortions Currently Not Legally Available in Kansas

gwiz665 says...

In Denmark we have a 12 week rules. Before that it's the woman's choice, after that you have to have a compelling reason - threatening the mothers life, deformed baby etc. I'm not all happy joy joy about babies aborted in the 12th week, but it's a much better solution than going at it with knitting needles like the "good old days".

@bcglorf and @SDGundamX the problem is that a fetus doesn't go from amoebus blob to fully formed human in an instant, it's a slow gradual process. You can't place a magic point where every fetus is now a human, but we can set some boundaries:
0-12th week definitely unconscious fetus
12-16: may have started developing X
16- ... etc etc

In the end abortions should absolutely not be done on a whim, but they should be a possible alternative.

Questioning Evolution: Irreducible complexity

Heres my live-comment on the video

"New knowledge has shaken the foundations of Darwins theory"

No. In fact, everything in biology, especially the discovery of DNA in 1953 have confirmed, and established once and for all that the foundation of Darwins theory based on the Natural selection of hereditery properties (Darwin called them traits, we now call them genes) is true.

"When Darwin was alive, they thought the cell was a simple blob"

Wow, that was only like 3 seconds between lie #1 and lie #2! Impressive, Behe. Lets drag up Darwins corpse, and see what he had to say, even if its largely irrelevant to the fact of evolution and the practice of modern biology:

"Like a car factory where everything has to fit together"

Not really, cells are messy things, and the processes inside is based on chemical reactions and physical laws (such as entropy) They look nothing like these tidy animations meant for illustration purposes. The production of proteins, for instance,is a process where the amino acids float around and bind themselves chemically to rna, not in an orderly "wait my turn"-style, but they latch on naturally to the RNA because they are chemically attracted to the 5 different nucleic acids on the RNA chain. It would be more similar to a redox reaction you can do with electrodes in water where the iron rod attracts the oxygen molecules, forming rust.(in the sense that theres nothing intelligent going on, just chemistry.)

"Darwinism was a lot more plausible when we thought the cell was a blob"

No.

A , Behes flagship of his idiot argument, he always pulls it out, all debunking be damned, he cant even hear how people have destroyed this silliness over and over:

Do Ducks Blink?

Jinx says...

Pretty sure humans do in fact have a vestigial third eyelid. That little red blob of semi-transparent shit in the corner of your eye? Yup, there it is.

Anyway, turns out the blind blink isn't antiquated at all. Theres probably a good reason why we got rid of it too, I mean, thats how Evolution works.

Make the animal in the video a white blob, it doesnt matter what it is , its digusting to treat something that way, I honestly do not know why you felt you had to say " I hate dogs and find them obnoxious, malodorous and over rated "

I hate dogs and find them obnoxious, malodorous, and over-rated, but COME ON, PEOPLE! There are some seriously psychotic monsters out there! Fuck me!

Corporations slimming portions, charging same price.

I agree with the intent of this video.

Like everyone, I don't want my food prices to go up BUT if they go up, I see the difference and adjust my grocery accordingly. Most people would never notice the package size difference, especially if the package shape is designed to actually look bigger. The fact is, they don't want the consumer to notice so they hide/disguise the idea of the package decrease. Completely dishonest in my opinion. If the commodity price goes up, reflect the price in the product so the consumer can be aware and make purposeful decisions on their product shopping.

I have been very aware of this lately. Here are some examples:

1). Chocolate bars - The new trend is to offer "Slim" chocolate bars (you know, for people who want a more controlled portion size). These chocolate bars sell at the same price as a normal bar but is half the bar.

2). Chocolate Bars again - The other day, I went out to buy a 4-pack of bars (4 family members) at Wal-mart, they were $2.50 for a bag/package. but when I looked at the weights. some brands of bars drastically less. Snickers won the heaviest at about 4.2 while some packs weighed as little as 1.8 - Less product, same price. http://videosift.com/video/Mars-Bar-11-6-Downsize AND http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30wsqtiBrVw

3) Restaurants - The Big Mac is roughly half the size it used to be, McDonalds has taken it's "BIG" burger and transformed it into the Lil' Mac - http://videosift.com/video/I-Want-My-BIG-MAC-Back-Super-Shrink-Me

4). Have you been for a Banana Split lately at Dairy Queen? What used to be the headliner treat and the biggest Sunday around has become a joke! The banana split still has three blobs of ice-cream ice-milk with a banana but the toppings have been drastically reduced to a table-spoon of topping on each blob, not even enough to cover the Ice cream.Slightly enemic on the toppings - if you ask for a little extra, be prepared to ad a couple more dollars to the already to high of a price $4.50

Of course, this is in every product - since I do the shopping for my family, I always look at size and weight. Normally, the "Brand Name" always has the smaller package/higher price, while generic and store brands almost always end up the better deal.

WaterDweller says...

A crappy camera taking video at night with a closed 6-blade aperture (as evidenced by the starshaped lights)? Real my ass. Consumer cameras rarely even have apertures, and keeping it closed in the dark is only something you do for long exposures (several seconds) to create that star effect, necessitating a tripod. In addition you can see the interference patterns when they zoom in, indicating that they were filming a computer screen or projected image (my guess is the former). Absolutely no other movement in the image aside from the white blob and the camera shake. And did I hear someone speak Mandarin Chinese in the background? Is that common in Jerusalem? American and Chinese tourists hanging out at the same spot?

Not a very well done hoax. It doesn't take much to fake a couple of camera shots like that. And I'd definitely say * lies.

Tight rope walking across two pillars of stone.

Trancecoach says...

Yeah, that's pretty interesting. You should check out some reflexology.. shit is insane.

this video's interesting because the man's entire body is flexed. He must be limiting, or at least minimizing, any movement of his upper body so thoroughly that every muscle is taut. Can't imagine the kind of stress/workout that this generates, but he could just as easily get it 10 feet off the ground (though not nearly as scenic).

>> ^Enzoblue:

Quick something I learned about balance. Your feet and toes have a lot of movement that is very important for standing/walking balance obviously. The problem is that we wear shoes all the time. With years and years of limiting this movement in our feet, the neural brain maps of our feet tend to gell together into one blob. So much so that we eventually lose that movement and that's why you see old people moving their feet like they're useless stumps.
I remember back in the day they used to always hire native americans for high-rise construction work because they had an insane sense of balance. I always assumed it was some evolutionary trait, but I think now it's because they only wore shoes when they had to, like for school etc, and had great motion in their feet.
So if your balance sucks, start going barefoot. Your brain will reverse the trend and start recognizing the different parts of your feet again. I learned this from a neurology book about Edward Taub.
I also learned that the neural map of your feet is physically adjacent to the neural map of your genital area. This is why chicks dig the toe play. Science rules.

Texting Fountain lady, Suing mall for her own dumb actions

vaporlock says...

I'm sure after the 10,000th lawyer called, she finally decided to sue. Though it is humiliating to have millions of people see a 'low-rez' blob fall into what looks like a water fountain. It is much more humiliating to do an interview and put a HD-face to the low-rez stupidity. The guy who uploaded it will probably lose his job, all because she has no sense of humor and wants to make a few bucks off her own screw-up.
