Working IT is always fun when it comes to this, cause all the mac people constantly brag about how awesome their macs are, then you get the call to come in and fix them. Half the time its one of those viruses Macs 'don't' get. I've discovered the best OS is the one with a user that doesn't operate it by rolling their face over the keyboard.

Yeah, got called to help out a couple years ago when some over-priveleged hack couldn't connect his Mac to the corporate network. So I was a fucking Systems Architect doing desktop support on a Mac in a Windows environment. Spent half an hour learning that I basically couldn't administer ANYTHING on that fucking POS. If it doesn't want to connect there's almost nothing you can do to figure out why! You're not allowed to see inside the black box that is Mac networking.


Mac is great if you're happy being told what you can do on your computer. What the "Cult of Mac"(tm) doesn't get is that their grasp of the digital world and what's possible is completely restricted to the experience the Apple engineers have designed for them. They have no idea how insignificant that experience is, they're just enthralled by the air of smugness that comes pre-packaged with their stylish piece of plastic.

I can see how with lots of bad luck and bad construction methods two planes could take down two buildings. I can, just because there are still two planes left. The Pentagon is thick and strong, a plane would leave little damage. Ok, let me buy that one too then. It still leaves one plane. The 4th one with bogus phone calls, no black box, and a small hole on the ground as debries. The 4th plane that crashed amidst some woods, and what did it leave behind? A hole smaller than a suburban-type pool. Before taking over the commands, passengers called family for eternal farewell such as: "Mother, this is Alfred Burmington, your son, I'm on a plane that is about to crash. Good-bye. My voice doesn't sound like your son because I'm very shaken with this outrageous situation."

This loose end makes the entire story fishy and it's not the conspiracy theorists fault, it's the terrible investigation that decided to leave questions unanswered instead of explaining to us how the construction company responsible for the construction of the twin towers in the 70's which now is a big company tied to big interests fucked up the whole thing by not following protocol to achieve bigger gains, etc. Typical case of construction company corruption. We'd all be happy if those yuppies were put to sleep or incarcerated in a homo-bears-yuppy-fetishists-filled prison. What about admitting the possibility of a spy planting bombs on the pentagon? Oh noes, that would shake the public opinion of the US military seriousness and leadership. Well it's already shaken by the fact that no planes were intercepted on that day. And yes we all heard about the excuses for that. Maybe they're true but still incomplete as any other explanation.
But that small hole on the ground the 4th plane left, that's the kind of bullshit nobody should get away with. And like a loose string it will make the entire bullshit crawl methodically

There's more to the arguments than all the talk about thermite, though. Take for instance the account of former 9/11 videographer Kurt Sonnenfeld. As for the thermite though, there still are some valid questions to be raised - a recent scientific study was released that added credence to these questions.. check it out, it's linked to in this here article.
And Nordlich, I can empathize with the way you feel. It's hard not to be pessimistic, apathetic, or just feel utterly hopeless about everything. He goes on about how if black boxes were destroyed, how come other bits that he saw weren't. Um... because things like that happen all the time when it comes to destruction, some things get utterly destroyed, while other bits escape seemingly unharmed due to the way their were thrown from the area or whathaveyou. I mean THIS is the sort of shit that the ENTIRE 'truther' movement is based around, these sorts of bullshit 'I saw molten metal, must have been steel, how could it have got that hot without explosives' SHIT.

Almost completely everything to do with the 9/11 conspiracy nonsense is people seeing things happen one way, against what they expect (the buildings falling straight down for instance) and then ascribing something they do know to look like that (a demolition) and forcing the facts to fit.

It's utterly infuriating. And you can spend a long time in 'their world' on the net and seem to think you're reading material backed up by others, but it's all a cyclic loop of the same stuff feeding back from one person to another.

The vehicle fire was surprising. I always laugh at Hollywood movies where a vehicle just flat-out explodes when it crashes. Seeing that fire was a real jolt.

I really just find that it is far too easy to get a driver's license nowadays. When I started hearing about black boxes in cars, my first thought was that they want to hold people up to the standards of a plane pilot, but they don't want to train and test people to that same level. Why not yearly driving exams? If we are really serious about it, why don't we treat the root cause of most driving problems, which is usually poor training and lack of experience.

-> first person reposts of multiple explosions before the planes hitting and the buildings coming down
-> The impossibly quick "pulling" of the third and fourth towers
-> The not plane shape hole in the White House
-> The wreckage at the White House not being from a passenger jet and suddenly disappearing
-> Conveniently finding all the passports of the Hi-jackers
-> finding several of the declared hijackers alive, unknowing and well after the fact.
-> leaked internal information that something was going happen that morning.
-> warnings to upper whitehouse officials to stay out of the building that morning.
-> reports of workers working for months inside the trade buildings every night in hidden seclusion.

BTW, after they put the "black box" warning on antidepressants, use of antidepressants among children went down while suicides went up. It's still too early to make a firm correlation, but the early evidence is not good.
