Enormous Beehive Found in Closet

Enormous Beehive Found in Closet

A little bit about Anti-Theists... (Blog Entry by kceaton1)

I am confused. What you provide is Hitchens making a very good point as to why superstitious beliefs (organised/codified in religion) are bad, and why he thus deems himself an antitheist (as I see myself, btw). What I asked for (in an almost rhetorical way, as I doubt such a thing exists) is the "militant" atheists/antitheists that are like the WBC, the ones that so-called "give us a bad rap".

Ah, I see what you want. Let me try to find one. I guess I should tone it down a tad as they aren't nearly as acidic as the Westboro Baptists, but to very religious people I imagine they are the worst people in the world. I believe my example of an atheist claiming all religions are evil is from Hitchins as well. He does of course try to explain why this is a truthful statement. Depending on how you view things this may be a fairly boisterous claim or merely a rational one. If you find it rational then you are most definitely an anti-theist to some degree, no matter what you think.

edit-

I think I will end it here actually. I guess I will change the original wording of militant to something else and make sure that it is known that the current crop of ant-theism is directly aimed at religion and typically Christianity. In the eyes of those religious they may seem like what I say due to the "seemingly undue" ferocity in which the words may be said, or the content a book might have--especially, to those that have spent their lives NOT bible thumping or preaching to the cameras. Books like "The God Delusion" or lesser ones that don't deal with the topic directly, but have the same effect like "Everything You Know About God Is Wrong" can have this effect.

So I will state that I know of this "movement" and it seems non-threatening to me, but I am not the target. So I have to view it through my very old religious goggles; with this I know it will be like shaking a beehive. So forgive my partly unfair adjective assignment and the unfair equality accusation of the Westboro Baptists to anti-theists.

When I was in 5th grade, I threw about 24 fluid ounces of gas on a beehive once thinking that looked about proper amount to burn something small. The flames were about 20 feet high.

I'm a daily visitor to Reddit - it's probably become my second favorite community over the years. But I use the "community" term loosely. It's hard to know anyone there. It's more like a beehive with thousands of anonymous bees. Fun place to get honey - but I wouldn't hang my hat there*.

1. Journey - Good Morning Girl

2. The Cure - Disintegration
Stopped to listen to this one all the way through, even though I usually just write down the track name and skip on with these things.

3. Talking Heads - Girls Want to Be with the Girls
Haha, had to listen to this one too.

4. the pillows - Beehive
Live version ripped from the bonus DVD of their latest live concert release, Blue Song With Blue Poppies. They actually stopped in the middle of the song because Sawao forgot the lyrics, then started fresh and rocked it really hard. Wish I could have seen this show.

5. ELLEGARDEN - Surfrider Association
Opening track from BRING YOUR OWN BOARD!! Love these guys. They sound like typical pop punk at a quick listen sometimes, but if you actually give a whole album a chance, you realize that they're fantastic musicians and a huge cut above the drudge that fills up their genre.

6. Pavement - Elevate Me Later
I actually haven't ever paid attention to this track before, but I really love the intro.

7. Ling Tosite Sigure - 鮮やかな殺人 (The Vivid Murderer)
Self-produced demo take, hell fucking yes. Raging, screeching Telecaster guitar solo, rumbling bass lines, and a huge range of dynamics.

8. ART-SCHOOL - LOST IN THE AIR (Tony Doogan mix)
Fan-fucking-tastic song. This mix has more presence to the bass guitar than the original, which creates for a much more atmospheric song. I like very much.

9. GING NANG BOYZ - 駆け抜けて性春 (The Youth Running Past)
God I love this song. Crazy but catchy Japanese punk rock. They record all of their instruments at one go in the studio rather than layering it instrument by instrument, giving a raw, live sound to all their recordings. I wish all rock musicians did this.

10. People in the Box - Paper Trip
Great song, off my favorite album by them.

A newbie's opinion:

Volumptuous saw a beehive that someone had recently poked with a stick - and went and got another stick. There were plenty of other ways to protest that weren't going to throw oil on the fire by deliberately flaunting the very rules that were being discussed, but that was not the choice that was made.

The management around here has shown incredible patience for putting up with all of this squabbling the way they have.

Captain Kirk dies like a bitch.

DAMN PARAMOUNT TO HELL! Damn those writers and exes to a lifetime of festering ass boils and hemorrhoids!

This ending IS even worse than the one used. I would have thrown a fit. Instead the one used I just sat there w/ my mouth agape dumbfounded. I didn't start getting really pissed until the drive home.

Captain Kirk should have gone out IN FLAMES! FLAMES!!!! Literally man, on fire ..still kicking asses, making computers self destruct and kissing hot beehive haired yeomans and naked green women along the way.

I wanted to see him push Spock and McCoy into the last shuttle craft and he had to punch them out first, and flaming Kirk goes back to kicking yet more asses until he hits self destruct and blows he and Enterprise up over San Francisco while everyone screams and cheers!!!! KIIIRRRRRRRRKKK!!!!!

WOOT!! that's right!

"the central battleground in the battle against al-Qaeda is in Iraq today!"

Get the fuck out of Iraq and then see if Sunni insurgents are still interested in it being a battleground. Don't stick your f-ing hand inside a beehive and then say 'I have to keep my hand still until the bees calm down'. There were no insurgents blowing crap up in Iraq until Mr. Decider got involved.
