French Girl Has Amazing Oral Skills

Truth says...

>> ^phelixian:
Title misled me. Her oral skillz are unknown. Her beat boxing skills are average, except she is a moderately attractive woman, stop that presses. [insert more sarcasm here if needs be or less if that suits you]

Exactly. She gets all this credit because "omg, a beautiful girl doing something manly!" These aren't out-of-ordinary skills and as I said - women shouldn't do this, because it just doesn't suit them. I know I will get downvoted by white knights who get no pussy anyway.

Japanese Hot Girl Math Formula

legacy0100 says...

The definition of 'hot' or 'pretty' differs greatly between individuals... so no equation can be formed here to predict certain conclusions. math is logic. Logic works around constant variables. If the variable constantly changes on you despite applying the same method you have done previously, then it's just a game of chances and random picking.

Besides what if the girl thinks herself is the most beautiful girl between all her friends? Because that's exactly how I feel around my world. JAPR and Issycat can argue all they want, but they don't even come close to my level of beauty and they know it.

Women and VideoSift: Why I'm a feminist. Guys, I quoted you. (Terrible Talk Post)

thepinky says...

You completely missed the point, and I don't have the energy to explain it other than by saying that I was not suggesting that the videos were upvoted because the people were male. I'm just pointing out the general underrepresentation of women in all forms of media. And when a women DOES happen to be popular it is often has a lot to do with her being pretty. And that's okay, really. Men like to look at pretty women. That's natural. I like to look at pretty men, too.

But did you read my comments of what a nice job sifters did of focusing on the factors that were deep and meaningful rather than shallow. Really. It was nicely done. I like VideoSift men a lot more than most.

>> ^MarineGunrock:
Ugh. I'm going to make this point as simple and clear as I can:
Woman CAN NOT be objectified without becoming objects. Pr0n "actresses" are objects of desire. Yes. That is THEIR choosing.
And really? Complaining about the top videos because they're all male? Sift more awesome clips with women. It's not that hard. I can run through your list and tell you which ones would have just as many votes if they were of a female:
1. A very talented MAN playing the ukelele.Doesn't count - those votes were all cronies. I've ben tempted to just discard it.
2. Two talented BOYS' well-made lightsaber video. Yup. If it were girls, it would have had the same. Thing is, you don't see many uber-geek girls, do you?
3. Autistic BOY being awesome at a b-ball game It's not the fact he has wedding tackle that made this video great, it's that he triumphed through his autism
4. Talented MALE robot dancer Again, it got the votes because it was really cool to see, not because he's got a banana and kiwis.
5. Prairie Dog, generally accepted as MALE. Thus: Drama KING I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't check for a prairie pecker before I clicked upvote.
6. Very clever rant about Pachebel. Again, a talented and clever MAN. What's that first adjective? And then the second? Those would be the reasons for the votes, not his twig and berries.
7. FINALLY, an intelligent WOMAN with integrity. What can I say? I like getting my bad news from someone that's easy on the eyes..
8. Awesome commercial. The Wind is a tall MAN doing funny things. Love this sift. I got nothin'
9. Drug spiders. MALE spiders? (Mr. Crack Spider, etc.), Male narrator. If they had made the crack spider a crack spideretts, I'm sure feminists would be pissed about that instead. Gender of the narrator does not make a difference. The script was the humor.
10. Quantum Physics narrated and explained by a MALE scientist.Maybe you want to get a degree in quantum physics and deliver that same speech? NO ONE watched that video and said "oh, I LOVE that Captain Q guy!" - No, they loved the explanation.
11. Clever prank, talented FEMALES, MALE narrator. (Yay!) All old/overweight women are the ones being tricked, all beautiful and young females are the tricksters. Oh come on. Are you really suggesting that they only let fat old women into that washroom? And are you forgetting about the guy? "No! You can't go in there! You're too hot to be pranked!" I think not.
12. Jon Stewart (MAN) being funny and clever and awesome. Again, the three adjectives?
13. A beautiful GIRL with a great bod doing something pretty cool. I would bet that at least 85% of the votes were received because of the comical novelty of the act.
14. Dolphins blowing bubbles
15. Cool music video. MALE vocals, MALE hands. Again, are you telling me that people only voted after they looked and made sure they could see hair on the arms? I sincerely doubt it.
The lesson here is that you could see shit anywhere you look for it. That doesn't mean it's true.

Come on, e'rybody! Let's see your pets! (Pets Talk Post)

Issykitty says...

This is Miss Isobel, aka: Issy, or maybe I should say Queen Isobel? She is my strikingly beautiful girl, and she'll be 4 yrs old this October. I also have a new plucky little kitten (about 10 wks old) named Dr. Franklin Timothy, or Frankie for short. You can see what he looks like in my blog. Both of them had pretty rough starts, and they were both rescued from certain death. Issy fell very ill with a severe kitty flu at about 8 weeks old, the day after I brought her home. I had to nurse her back to health by having her rehydrated at the vet's and giving her antibiotics and eyedrops. She is just the picture of health now, and she is so supercool and smart, opening doors, and fetching and bringing things to me all the time. She and I have an extra special bond, and she enjoys talking to me.

Frankie is really starting to settle in, and he is still very young. If you check out my blog, you can read about his raccoon attack when he was only 6 weeks old. He's already more than doubled in weight since we had him at 7 wks old. He just got his first set of vaccinations, and he went from previously weighing just one pound to 2&1/2. His leg has healed nicely, and he's gaining strength in it everyday. He's only recently just started to climb, and we have a rad cat tower for him to play in. He has a wonderfully loud purr, and he loves Issy and thinks she is soooo cool. DFT and I are lucky ones to have the both of them as they are endless joy and amusement.

Take a stroll through my discards, and you'll see I know no shame when it comes to 70's schmaltz.

SAY!, if you happen to see, the most beautiful girl, who walked out on meeee...hmm hmm hm hmmm hmmmmm...

Chuck Mangione - Feels So Good

schmawy says...

Y'know, I'm going through this phase where I'm appreciating all the schmaltzy stuff from the 70's. I posted "If you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world" and it died with two votes. I posted Tom T Hall to the same effect. Then there was the Neil Diamond debacle. Now it's John Denver. What the F is wrong with me?

I guess I'm so appreciative of anything that has any degree of songwriting, composition, or musicianship in it, which is hard to find these days.

Best Friends: two years of love between pug and girl

Sexism Strength and Dominance:Masculinity in Disney Films

Kreegath says...

Alright, had the movies told us to be alpha males/females (beings, if you will) then that would still account for about zero to one percent of gender role and body perception views if you ask me. There are lots of ways to raise ones child/children without them growing up to be either a Gaston, a Milton (see Office Space), or a suicidal emo goth person. Key here is communication, talking to the kids and not overanalyzing.
The kind of stories Disney portray in their movies are classical tales of heroes, and as we all know the story would be painfully boring for children to watch if the hero was Milton Waddams (Office Space) going to work in the office basement, battling hordes of Mongol marauders or even a hydra, or whatever else Disney has to throw at him. Actually, as a parent I'd be more concerned that my children would get a distorted view of modern day Englishmen from watching Pokahontas than I'd be of them becoming brawling alphamales from watching The Lion King.
Point is that YES, Disney films would be bad for kids if that's the ONLY interaction with the world they got. However, that's not a realistic scenario.

As for acceptance, I think that was the whole point of the Beauty and the Beast. Showing kids that a beautiful girl can fall in love with a monster instead of the buff alpha man-hulk goes a long way in showing acceptance, especially taking into consideration the backstory to the Beast becoming what he was.

My main gripe with this video is how it spins the reality of the movies, blatantly ignoring the obvious messages of them aswell as taking scenes out of context and adding their own to the scenes they've taken out. I can garantuee you that no kid in the world would see any Disney movie (neither consciously nor subconsciously) in the way shown in this video.
This is a fear monger's wet dream, much like saying that reading Donald Duck would promote indecency because he's not wearing any pants, or how showing kids the Smurfs will indoctrinate them into becoming communists.
In the end, I think that grownups see alot of things in cartoons that kids don't. And even if you see something in a comic that you don't agree with, shielding ones children by not letting them watch it won't protect them. All it will most likely do is truly give them a distorted world view in believing these issues does not exist. Key here, as I'd like to point out, is talking to ones kids about it.

As a closing note I'd also like to say that one of my very favourite films to date is the animated (in those days called cartoon) movie "Wizards". A highly destructive film for children to watch by today's standards. In all fairness it's not really a films for younglings, which needs to be said in hopes for me to not get misinterpreted.

"We had dinner down in Little Italy and she came back to my place, which was nice. After a while though, the conversation became stale, and get this, her hair doesnt look very reddish at all in darker places. It was very strange. In the sun, its pretty red but at night, it looks plain brown. Just not my type."
"Heroes: My ex-girlfriend. She was everything to me until a tragic accident. I'll always remember her."
"Life's too short to be down and depressed all the time."
"Sort of grungy place but a lot of beautiful girls. Not many red heads though!"

Gnarls Barkley: Crazy (Official)

James Roe says...

Gnarls Barkley is a musical collaboration between Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. Their first album, St. Elsewhere, was released by Warner Music on April 24, 2006 in the UK and is set to be released May 9 in the US by Atlantic/Downtown Records.

"Crazy", their first single, has been played on BBC Radio 1 by Trevor Nelson, and Zane Lowe, since late 2005. It was made Record of the Week by Jo Whiley and Scott Mills and also Weekend Anthem by both Sara Cox and Spoony. The song gained some of its popularity due to the use of it on primetime Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe's television advert, and it was also made Record of the Week by Ken Bruce of BBC Radio 2. It was released as a single on April 3, 2006, preceded by its release as digital download and 12" vinyl single in March 2006. On 2 April, 2006, it became the first ever UK #1 based on download sales alone.[1]

In an interview with Observer Music Monthly, Danger Mouse denied that the band's name is a reference to basketball player Charles Barkley, saying "Nope. It's just like everything else on this record. There was no conscious decision about stuff."[2]

They are set to appear at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 30, 2006,[3] as well as at Lollapalooza 2006 in Chicago.
