Gnarls Barkley - Go Go Gadget Gospel

mlx says...

Hmm, well, maybe it will help. I mean, I adore Gnarls Barkley, but it does look just about like every other pimp video out there...until you get to the sock puppets. I mean...wtf? It's hilarious!

Sorry, I missed your post, would've definitely upvoted had I seen it.

Danger Doom (Danger Mouse & MF Doom) - The Mask

benjee says...

This is a video of the collaboration of MF Doom (a video of his work, here on VideoSift) and Danger Mouse (a video of his work, is here on VideoSift and also a list here) to form DangerDoom. There's also a really funny Public Service Announcement / infomercial parody video (to promote the album) on YouTube aswell. As Metal Faced Doom (who has more pseudo-names than anyone else I've ever known!) always performs in a mask, as a protest to the over-use of image & marketing in music; I guess that this song is about that fashion accessory he loves so much...

DJ Danger Mouse: The Grey Video (The Beatles breakdance!)

benjee says...

A short explanation/further example of Danger Mouse's (the guy behind Gnarls Barkley) project can be found in this video on YouTube. Essentially, it's an amazing 'mash-up' or remixing of The Beatles White Album and Jay-Z's Black Album (I know: he's a much better crack dealer than he is a person/musician/lyricist, but it's actually quite good). The Grey Album (Danger Mouse's entire project) was the most downloaded music ever on the internet (much to the dismay of the record companies attempting to make a profit from his hard work).

P.S. The video is worth a watch alone - no-where else can you find Ringo scratching vinyl or The Beatles break-dancing!
