Amazing! I want to see the inner workings, but that is some *quality art/engineering right there. The description said it's like a Spiro graph that uses steel balls, magnets, and sand, but how does it switch patterns?

And it's not just the smallest ball, it seems like every one of those balls is magnetized, that's what makes the head stack possible, and explains all the weird ball movement on the rug. I didn't know you could make what looks like a clear acrylic ball magnetic. Apparently I still don't know how magnets work.

After I saw this, I bought some rare earth magnets online and went down to home depot and picked up a simple copper pipe and have the same little fun experiment. Want I want to do is to get a circular track, and it with a ball magnet inside and let it slowly roll around and generate a bunch of heat just by the magnet falling.
