One of my personal favorites, at four votes; the story of Swampgirl and the Angel of Mercy, Barry Gibb...

>> ^swampgirl:
Barry Gibb almost hit me with his car once.
It was the summer of 79, I was about 11 I think. I was vacationing in Daytona Beach with relatives. We swam all day, everyday. It could get a little dangerous running between the cars on the way in and out the water. You may [not] be able to now, but back then you could drive on the beach.
My cousins had left the water and were almost back to the hotel. I on the other hand was trailing behind.
Running as fast as I could to catch up, I almost ran smack into an oncoming yellow Corvette. I tripped on my float too and fell flat on my face. I got up and looked at the driver. Barry Gibb.
He was there, feathered winged hair-do and everything! Ok, he had dark glasses, but that didn't matter damnit.
I gaped for about 5 seconds, then ran back and told everyone. They laughed. Why didn't I speak to him and get his autograph or something? Duh.
I don't know, I was just a stupid kid. It was him though.

Epic.

No need to fear boys... I'm not sure about happy, some people smile when they are scared, but what the hey, not everyday you can get Hitler's autograph, and I admit I do laugh every time I watch this scene...

Nominated for Animated Short Oscar: I met the Walrus

kronosposeidon says...

John Lennon was such a great dude. As sad as his assassination was, what made it even sadder for me was when I learned this many years after it happened: Earlier in the day before Mark David Chapman shot him, he was stalking Lennon outside of his apartment building. Lennon saw Chapman with a copy of of his latest album "Double Fantasy" in his hand, so he shook his hand and autographed his record. A photographer happened to be present at the moment, and snapped this iconic picture of the two together. Lennon may not have been a saint, but who is? To the end he was a fundamentally decent human being.

BTW, shouldn't the video title say "I Met The Walrus", i.e., the title of the film?

KISS on The Paul Lynde Halloween Special, 1976

How surreal seeing Paul Lynde's painfully cheesy intro to Kiss...and Margaret Hamilton making appearances as the Witch still in the 70's. Fun Find, QM
I did see a bit once where the Mayor of Munchin Land was signing autographs at a Burger King sometime in the late 90's.
