Baby Chicks dumped alive into a grinder (and other horrors)

blackest_eyes says...

To everyone defending the chick-grinders: are you really sure you're not just trying to protect your peace of mind? The fact is, you like meat. You want to continue to eat meat - a lot of it probably - and you don't want to pay too much for it. Human minds are great at producing justifications for their desires. We're very good at deceiving ourselves into thinking we came to a conclusion through logic and reason, when really, we are motivated by the need to justify. So you should always be suspicious of a justification that conveniently happens to justify behavior that otherwise might be considered immoral. In your mind, try to separate the chick-grinding from the meat-eating you want to justify. Watch the video again, and instead of thinking of chicken nuggets dipped in honey mustard, think of a brand new form of life being brought into this world, only to snuffed out before even getting a chance. It doesn't matter if chicks can't feel or experience life like an adult human can - neither can human babies. Yet I'm sure you'd object to throwing them in grinders. This isn't about animal cruelty so much as a fundamental respect for conscious beings.

American girl flips the bird, throws drink in dudes face...

This video and its comments are like a bad tooth I cant leave alone!

In fairness to EndAll this has been an interesting discussion but I do regret upvoting, by my own guidelines I tend to only downvote violence or animal cruelty and I should have downvoted this.

My earlier comment said they were both a-holes, I feel this was not correct.

Based on what we see, she seems genuinely upset and surprised by whatever he did (did he put something in her hair?) and however poorly she handled things later, she was dealing with it verbally, while he went all hands in face and invaded her personal space. Her reaction seems the kind reasonable people have to unforeseen douchebaggery, "why would you do that?"

The drink throw I think was probably a sign of her naivety and (dare I say it) innocence, she is only young and maybe it was her first time abroad without mom and dad and she still thought she was on a relatively civilized college campus, and not a drink and drug fuelled party resort. In my experience thrown drinks always result in violence. When you tangle with a stranger in a foreign country the chances are they live by different standards of behaviour. That may not be politically correct, but it doesnt have to be, its the reality of life on earth. I've had my own life experiences to understand that, this poor girl is just learning.

Alcohol is a very dangerous drug, we tend to forget that it deprives us of good judgment and allows otherwise normal people to do stupid and horrendous things. It renders people oblivious to factors that sober people would take account of. The Romans said "Alcohol is truth", as it strips away the layers of civilized behavior and pretty much leaves people with a reptile brain.

I maintain that he behaved like an a-hole, but before people take him down to the hanging tree or work out their own issues in bursts of equally contemptible violence, keep in mind we have laws for dealing with behavior like that.

^At the very least you should place your pet in a kennel. It is the height of animal cruelty to let your pooch starve to death in your apartment after you have been whisked away by the hand of God.

Yeah Bill, let the audience decide. Like they haven't already. Oh, you must mean the retard demographic that watches your show. I'm surprised Bill-O didn't lament the animal cruelty depicted in the keyboard cat video.

Atheism WTF? (Wtf Talk Post)

BicycleRepairMan says...

Like Sketch, I am also technically an agnostic, I call myself atheist, however, because I feel most agnostics have put the cart in front of the horse when it comes to the god-question. Like the horse is supposed to pull the cart, the believers are the ones with a case that should be made. They are making a claim ("there must be/I think there is a god), I am not. I'm simply observing that there isnt a shred of evidence anywhere to support this claim, and thus I see no reason to believe in said claim.

and am i the only person that has any belief?

I am not without beliefs. I believe in things like democracy, free speech, human to human morality, I believe animal cruelty is wrong, I believe in the concept of science and reasoning, and much, much more.

Another thing to consider about the sift, which is true in atleast my case, is that the sift is global, and many countries (like mine) are not that religious.

Dogs eat llamas alive.

pipp3355 says...

"owners were arrested Friday on one count each of animal cruelty. The charges stem from an incident that happened Feb. 23 when the Devines’ dogs attacked and ate three llamas alive at the couple’s farm on 6575 County Highway 26 between Garden City and Blountsville. Neither of the Devines live at the property. Neighbors filmed the attack and contacted Roundtree about pressing animal cruelty charges"

ummm... there are no lawyers clamoring to take this case? And were the horses mistreated? I'm guessing not, as the vet had just been there a few weeks ago and treated them himself. Perhaps that Vet should be taken to jail for animal cruelty.

people who abuse animals ALWAYS grow up to abuse people and often become murderers. i know that more often then not people dont get any punishment for animal cruelty, even with evidence such as videos. this is changing a little bit when there is a video because of global outrage, but otherwise the law dosent give a crap. anyone remember that video of the soldier in iraq throwing a puppy off a cliff? It makes me sick, and then reading the comments made me feel even worse because half the comments on youtube supported him, saying he did nothing wrong! disgusting.

Lost Cop Shoots Puppy On Private Property In Oklahoma

SDGundamX says...

>> ^imstellar28:
^the homeowner runs a private security camera 24/7. you don't think he has the borders of his property delineated? the cop is lucky if he gets a trespassing charge, he deserves an animal cruelty charge, and destruction of property charge as well. why mess around with the legal systems? I still think the owner should have shot him.
If you think a person can assume that a running dog is life threatening, how can you not assume a person who starts shooting animals on your property as he walks up to your front door is not life threatening?

People can have home cams without fences or no trespassing signs. I had a cam in my old apartment complex just so I could see who was at the front door before I opened buzzed it open. The grounds to the complex were completely open and there weren't any signs posted about trespassing. Point is, we don't know what she had posted but I certainly don't see any fencing or anything.

Someone shooting your animals is not the same as someone shooting at you or your family. (Yes, I know people consider dogs as one of the family. Still doesn't make the dog a human, though.) Although there are exceptions such as Texas, where you can legally use lethal force against someone destroying your property, in most states such an action will get you arrested on attempted murder charges. The cop isn't aiming his gun at the owner or the house, he's aiming at the charging dog and keeps the gun trained on the dog the whole time, even after firing. Only a true paranoid would mistake such actions as posing an immediate lethal threat to themselves.

By the way, Oklahoma has a "Make My Day" law which allows homeowners to use lethal force in response to a perceived threat within their home. It doesn't apply outside the home however, which is why some people are trying to amend it.
