Muse - Supremacy (Official Lyric Video)
Sounds like they wrote it with James Bond in mind:
"..a band, Muse, says that one of its songs, "Supremacy," would make for an excellent James Bond theme song, even hinting it had be submitted to the filmmakers. .."

Adele - James Bond: Skyfall (Official Video)
Seems clear that expectations have diminished to almost zero. Television is, for the most part, cheap fly on the wall crap, repeats, or C list "celebrity" embarrassment - what next, celebrity ass swap? Films insult our intelligence with "adaptations" (copies) or parts 1,2,3,4,5. As for music, it has become a soulless dirge-for the most part. How the hell did the skyfall theme get an award? Another case in point is David Bowie's latest "creation." It's simplistic, banal and self indulgent crap. BTW, I think Bowie and Adele are great, but are we running out of ideas and inspiration?
Yoko Ono covers Katy Perry's "Fireworks"
nope, this is freakin hilarious, she's a comedic genius. It's made even better by the fact that the piano playing is so bog standard.
*edit* OK turns out the piano was added after as a joke, there's a version of this with the star spangled banner, with Adele etc... In reality she sang this acapella. I'm kind of disappointed now.. but I have to admit I did laugh.
Am I the only one who burst out laughing?
A Really Great Cover of the Adele Song "Turning Tables"
In case you haven't heard the original song of this from Adele...this is a live performance at Royal Albert Hall. It's so good.

Young Girl Crushes Adele's "Someone Like You"
Nope, I'm afraid I don't have any proof. Just my experience - I actually hope its her real voice because its truly incredible... her voice is very stable throughout the song, and I got the suspicion when she hit the high notes on the second, third and fourth chorus. she was literally screaming the notes, but the sound was extremely stable with not even one tone out of place. Even professional singers would have a hard time achieving that.
Another thing that raised my suspicion was the soft echo she had throughout the song - which either means a crappy sound in the room she was singing or that somebody turned on the echo effect on low.
But this is what the internet is for, right? SKEPTICISM!
I did say she has an amazing voice though...

Don't want to be the bad news guy, but I'm pretty sure there's a bit of Auto tune going on there with the high notes... She does have an amazing voice though...
Based on what exactly? I mean really, could you back that up with anything at all?

Do we need a "hyperbole" button too next to the sarcasm button? Maybe it should have read, "... a bajillion octave range..." to make it absolutely clear.>> ^Sagemind:
14 octave range? - Hardly.

>> ^Sagemind:
14 octave range? - Hardly. In fact she didn't hit any of the high notes in the song at all.
And there is no way her voice could hit the lower octaves.
Roy Orbison had a 3-4 octave range and was considered one of the best. I have no idea where the claim she can hit14 octaves - That's absurd
Soprano: C4 – C6
Mezzo-soprano: A3 – A5
Contralto: F3 – F5
Tenor: C3 – C5
Baritone: F2 – F4
Bass: E2 – E4
When you have an octave that means that the two notes are exactly 8 notes apart, hence the "oct" part in the word. This means that the octave of D is D. You count 8 notes from the starting note. i.e.
D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D= 8 notes all together

I think a description revision might be necessary. Thanks for the input on this!

From my understanding of autotune (everyone's on the internet's an expert, right?), as this is a single track recording, if someone bent her voice, it would also bend the keyboards, so she'd still be out of tune, and the keyboards would sound wrong to boot. The other possibility is that the video is overdubed from a two-track recording with the vocals autotuned, which I'm also doubtful of, given how close the video matches the audio (still an expert). One thing I'm not an expert in is detecting subtly autotuned songs by ear, so I can't speak to that.
