Pink Floyd "Let There Be More Light"

RFlagg says...

Okay, I like early Pink Floyd, but Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here would have to go down as my favorites. I also prefer any of the post Waters stuff over Final Cut which struck me more as a Waters album that just happened to have Pink Floyd on it. Heck I generally prefer Division Bell over The Wall at times, although that may be because stuff from the Wall is way overplayed. Then again I would take an overplayed Wall song over lots of today's music (there are notable exceptions).

DSOTM is basically 2 long songs, but I hear what you're saying. Also, I notice that if I listen to a Floyd album these days it tends to be Animals, WYWH, or Meddle before DSOTM. I might have played that one out too, but it's still absolutely fantastic. Off and on over the years I used to play "Echoes" at bedtime if I was having trouble falling asleep, so that might be the Floyd song I've heard the most. Now the only music accessible in my bedroom is a clock radio, so I haven't done that in awhile.

Wow. Switch that 2nd place tie with the first place pick and we're one in the same. Yea "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" are, by far, their best albums. Of course Dark Side Of the Moon is in there too, but I think I've just been played out of that one. There's something about 10+ minute songs that take you on that journey.

I haven't heard anything after The Wall (except for Division Bell which BLOWS). Hard to believe they're the same band.

My favorite is Dark Side of the Moon, making me part of the herd, I suppose. Tied for second would be Wish You Were Here and Animals, followed by Meddle, then The Wall, and beyond that you probably don't care, though I'll tell you if you want to know. Least favorite would probably be More or Obscured By Clouds.

What's yours?

Something about Dark Side of the Moon puts that album above the rest, in my opinion. There's no weakness to the album, everything is part of the journey. So few albums achieve this. I'm not too familiar with Animals, but Wish You Were Here doesn't have that consistency for mine.

I'm over at @Captain_Caveman s apartment, sipping on a drink (it's an hour from midnight here). Good company, good drinks, and we just trounced the U.S. in World Junior hockey!

It's a testament to Videosift that I logged on at a time like this. Hope everyone has a good year, and let's hope I get past Goldstar this year

For all those east of me, hope your New Years eve was fun!

@JesseoftheNorth - wish you were here bro. Happy New Year.

Blankfist roasting on an open fire (Parody Talk Post)

Blankfist, the cheese-eating, wine-sipping, Ron Paul-felchin, Navy-buttfucker.
The first thing that sucks about blankfist is his L.A. residency, one of the worst cities this side of the Mason-Dixon line. He fits right into this pretentious asshole heaven by letting us know that, the first time he tasted acceptance, was for an "audience vote" his "second year" in "film school". This fucking douche-bag can't even make it five paragraphs without name-dropping, himself!
The second thing that sucks about blankfist is that he has a cat named Maceo. That is so fucking lame. Only cheese-dicks and 12 year old school girls belong to this club, although, it's often difficult to pinpoint which one of these blankfist belongs to.
The third thing that sucks about blankfist is that he thinks Spider-Man's web slinging ability is a power. Even fucking D.C. fans know the score on this.
The fourth thing that sucks about blankfist is that he left Kronoposeidon alone to raise their son. He still sends wish-you-were-here-sunset postcards, but he hasn't used his pay phone on Venice Beach to reach them for some time now.
Blankfists' one way of rebelling comes from posting cat fart videos as an anonymous user on a superb, yet underground, website. He is a tame conformist who is an essential member of VideoSift and I hate having him here.
