Let's Play San Francisco Rush

Gabe_b says...

If anywhere has good rush, SF would be the place.

Is he playing that on a Sega Saturn emulator? I remember getting something that looked a lot like that trying to play Soul Calibur for the DC on my netbook

Reset Button: Most Innovative Videogame of 2008

mizila says...

I think this 'never die' thing should just be the new "easy" option for most games. If you're not there for the challenge, just to enjoy the story and feel like you're a part of it, you pick "easy." You don't die, and you get to experience the game without wasting precious time. People who enjoyed the game enough and want to try it with some challenge, or the 'hardcore,' can step it up to "normal." Then of course you unlock "hard" and the game can be as cheap as it wants.

Personally Ninja Gaiden is one of my favorite games evar, and my girlfriend loves to watch me play... but I would never dream of asking her to play it because I like my controllers in one piece. If every time you died, you got all your health back and just had to fight the same room of ninjas over again she might just play it, and after that she might even be confident enough to try "normal." And then she'd probably kick my ass in Soul Calibur even harder than she does now.

I think the reason games have been so damned unforgiving is because the value of a game is largely seen as a function of the amount of time it takes to play. The longer they make the game, even if it's by replaying large parts of it, the more they can justify $50 to $60 games.

Now chill out noobs.

Soul Calibur IV ?! (Blog Entry by Thylan)

AnimalsForCrackers says...

Hope this re-sparks the flame/aura of awesomeness that Soul Calibur 1 for the Dreamcast had about it. Believe that Yoda will be for the 360 version and Vader for the PS3. Also, it was Heihechi from Tekken that was in the PS2 version of SC2. The Star Wars characters may be some sort of weird cult-homage to the old, largely unknown Star Wars PS1 fighting game, Masters of Teras Kasi, which wasn't too bad for Lucas-philes back in the day.

What should the penalty be for having an illegal abortion?

"How many prolifers would dedicate their whole life to caring for the unwanted product of a rape instead of just standing around with a sign on weekends?"

plz read my above posts, where I point out that right-to-life organizations do more for single mothers and their children than any pro-choice ppl would ever dream of. And I sincerely doubt pro-choice ppl care about the unwanted products of rape, as evidenced by their willingness to "destroy the problem" before it even comes to life, no pun intended

" wow, a SIDESTEPPING-COMBO from Bill the Brilliant. WHAT A MOVE!!!"

It comes from my videogame background, I was a decent Soul Calibur player

"As for the monsters opposing your right to do as you please with your own property... They. Are. Filth. Unutterable, incomprehensible abomination."

Ah, wielding the +3 sword of Flamebait, are we? That's sooo 2002...

How to Beat Your Children at Video Games

swampgirl says...

Reminds me of the Christmas that Soul Calibur 2 came out. We bought it for the kids that year. (no flames please )
For two weeks before Christmas, after they went to bed we would get it out of the closet and play it for an hour or so.

We slaughtered our kids the first week after Christmas, but they soon surpassed us...of course

Trailer for live-action "DOA: Dead or Alive" movie!

swampgirl says...

ok, I hate bimbo movies with a passions and I've never played Dead or Alive for that reason. Being female makes the boobie physics a bit of a bore for me. But this has enough Soul Calibur feel to it to be interesting.

The upvote is for the Wilhelm scream. :-)
