Strictly speaking this isn't the only live action Dr Seuss film. Both How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Cat in the Hat were based on his books, although they were heavily 'Hollywoodised'.

A mixture of 2 parts water and 3-4 parts cornstarch is often called Oobleck, after a Dr. Seuss story. It behaves as a solid when compressed and a liquid when uncompressed. Vibrating it must give it a split personality as it goes from compressed to uncompressed rapidly.
