I think I'd have to see it in actual printed form to judge the readability accurately.

BUT, in terms of readability on a display, like the 40" 1920x1080 LCD I'm watching on ... it is quite poor in my opinion. I have a feeling that it would work much better in ink on paper.

33% ink savings sounds pretty good, assuming that the readability on paper is better than a display. That being said, encouraging printer manufacturers to have a more sane approach to refillable ink/toner reservoirs would have a better/bigger impact.

Here in Thailand, where respect for patents / IP is low, (SE Asia is notorious for fake manufactured goods, pirated "soft" media, and hardware hacks / bypasses) I'd guess that around 90% of inkjet printers sold have a tank system glued onto the side with ink lines running into the cartridges from big CYMK reservoirs. I never buy new cartridges unless the print head gets damaged/worn out -- instead, I just buy cheap LARGE bottles of the different ink colors and refill the reservoirs. That kind of mod would be a gray or black-market item in the West, but here the laissez-faire attitude about such things has some positive effects. At least, for a consumer (like me), or someone concerned about the environmental impact of all the waste packaging for ink carts (like the dude in this video).

So, It's rare, but sometimes, out in the wild, you come across these natural occurring chocolate pudding reservoirs....

20 years ago I raved about Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction to anyone who would listen. But his one-note style of mashing up other films' scenes and music (as a tribute-parody-homage-sly reference-injoke-Easter egg, etc) has gotten as stale as any other form of sampling.

But I guess he will always have his Beliebers or Taran-teenies, or whatever they're called.

I've worked as a rescue boat driver at a large sailing reservoir in the UK for many years. It still terrifies me how little time you've got to get someone out of the water before things get really serious. I've had a few close calls and only one entrapment, but fortunately a very easy to fix one.

Water is a fantastic thing to play around with and my kids will be spending as much time as possible in and around it, but it's well deserving of respect. Add any sort of equipment into the mix (boat, kayak, even rubber rings) and things get worse.

It reminds me of the Maryland state tax on the amount of rainfall that falls on your property. But it's unclear to me what "water" here refers to. Is it the underground river going beneath my house? Is it Lake Michigan? Is it the collected rainfall in my wheelbarrow? Is it the ocean? Is it the water in the Las Vegas hotel fountain? Is it the reservoir?

"Ownership," in the legal sense of the word, for each of these may vary. Does the "government" own all of these? Is there a pragmatic and/or legal distinction between "owning" and "controlling?"

The Colorado River dries up before it reaches the ocean. California complains that not enough water reaches CA and that NV and others are using up too much of it. Who owns the water coming down the Colorado River?

I also put this up behind Pulp Fiction (Kill Bill might be higher, but this is way up there anyhow)... I didn't see Death Proof, and Reservoir Dogs isn't super high on my list (was perhaps in a bad mood the one day I tried to watch it, it is one of those films I want to see again and give a chance to).

Just as long as there's not a squirting reservoir at the tip once you're finished with your workout.

I disagree. QT knows exactly what he is doing. Some of his films are dialog driven (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown) and some are genre and/or action driven films (True Romance, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds). I have no doubt he is capable of writing another Pulp, and that one day he probably will, but for now he is doing high-art pastiche of the classic exploitation dramas he grew up with. This is not to say that these action films are less good than his dialog films, they just have different aesthetic criteria.
He is much like Speilberg in this way, if polar opposites in dialog and style. Speilberg has his serious movies, and he has his homages to the serial action films of his youth.
Prediction: Eventually Quentin will eventually get his fill of action films and create another magnum opus, and likely get himself an Oscar in the process. I would absolutely love for him to take his favorite film of recent times, Battle Royale, and make an American-culture-specific version - not a remake of the film, but a remake of the concept as it would occur if it played out with American high schoolers.
Also, comparing QT to Shayamalan is blasphemy. Even Shayamalan's best work was an average film with a great twist. Shayamalan has never shown even an ounce of the writing or directing skills that QT has. Take it back. TAKE IT BACK!!1!>> ^lucky760:

I no longer have any confidence Quentin will make another Reservoir Dogs- or Pulp Fiction-caliber film, and I've made my peace with that, but I will still eagerly await every one of his new projects with fervent anticipation.
(I just hope he never descends as far down as M. Night Shyamalan.)

I thought Basterds was great too, maybe even his best yet, and although it had action scenes, I think it was the first time that he really nailed the dialog without it ever getting tedious or boring. Reservoir Dogs is a great movie, but I've fallen asleep to it more times than I've actually watched it.

It's not a comparison of M. Night's work to QT's, but a comparison of how the anticipation of their newer films has waned. In M. Night's case, it has nosedived so far that people, myself included, now audibly guffaw at the "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" brag in trailers for his projects.

The problem with QT is not that his latest works are crap, but given the precedents he set, my expectations for greatness far exceed the quality of his latest works. I'm not at all a hater or even complainer of his latest films. In fact, I like them a lot, and I really appreciate his interpretations of bygone-era genres, but the honest truth is I walk out of his films with a tinge of disappointment.

I just need to set my expectations lower, but then I go and re-watch Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction and it fouls that whole plan up.

I hope he'll someday make the Vega Brothers film that was rumored about so long ago.
