It's an eco-disaster? I wouldn't think it could be that bad seeing as it's in a horrible wasteland of a desert. It makes sense it would harm the ocean near it though. I was more concerned as you said about the human rights aspect and the slave labor used to build it.


Wastelands are a result of an imbalance in a biosphere. They are usually a result of human interaction within an ecosystem, or occasionally large asteroids/meteors. Deserts are not wastelands, they have some of the most diverse and adaptive lifeforms on the planet.

Yes, fucking up a desert is still considered causing an Eco-disaster.

As for the slave labor... 95% of our goods in North America are from sweat shops over seas. Who are we to pass judgment on ethical practices overseas when we endorse those same practices in every consumer product we purchase?

There is a good reason I find it harder to sleep as each new night approaches.

This is the kind of video that leaves me sitting on the front lawn looking up at the sky hoping that a meteor will strike me in the skull and drive me straight into the center of the Earth.

1. 80% of millionaires did not earn their money through hard work. That is part of the bullshit mythos too many wealthy people fall in to, namely how they did it ALL themselves without the aide of others. I've worked for millionaires (and beyond!) and too many of them consider their workers to be incidental components in their meteoric assent to greatness... blah blah blah.

2. Nature's conspiracy is nature's and man's conspiracy is man's. One doesn't negate the other, though they intersect from time to time.

3. You don't appear to be interested in defending millionaires or the 1%; you simply don't like it when, occasionally, some of them acknowledge income inequality or disparity in rates of taxation. It smacks of hypocrisy to you that a wealthy person might think they have it a little too good. I guess Bill Maher shouldn't have given HIS money to Obama's SuperPac because he's the wrong kind of millionaire. He should be ashamed he didn't keep that money for more hot tubbing and weed.

I had totally expected a report about how Kim Jong Il had seen a meteor heading for his train, jumped from it, caught it and redirected it, giving his life to save everyone on the train. Since they claim he just died of "fatigue," it makes me wonder if he was assassinated or something. North Korean journalism is of the quality of Baghdad Bob.

At least Kim Jong died never having to take more than one swing at a golf ball to get it in the hole...
