Why The Right Wing End Game Is Armageddon

newtboy says...

That depends on which bible you mean....there are many.

Really? Lost to history?! Hardly....lost to the ignorant and uneducated maybe, but even atheists like me know full well Jesus the man was a Jew, and definitely not a European or "white". Roman/Italian artists knew this, but worked for a Roman church so portrayed him in their image.

Genetic purity?! Lol. I guess that means no one has EVER become Jewish, you're either born one by two pure Jewish parents or not. Hardly reality, and would reject nearly every person in Israel (or elsewhere). Just because there is a long standing religious/cultural taboo against marriage outside the culture, it still happens, as does conversion. Racial/genetic purity is a fallacy debunked by genetic testing.

Prophecy is a leap. No prophecy has been correctly interpreted until AFTER the events supposedly prophesied occurred. It's ridiculous to go back after the fact and claim "see, now that I know exactly how to interpret the unclear prophecy I couldn't decipher before, it's a 100% perfect prediction" but never be able to predict the future. That's the same nonsensical logic mediums use.

The second temple was also the third, since the true second temple was originally a rather modest structure constructed by a number of Jewish exile groups returning to the Levant from Babylon under the Achaemenid-appointed governor Zerubbabel. However, during the reign of Herod the Great, the Second Temple was completely refurbished, and the original structure was totally overhauled into the large and magnificent edifices and facades that are more recognizable. Logically, the third temple was the one destroyed by Romans, the second replaced by Herod but the new one was still called the second temple anyway. (To avoid contradicting prophecy? ;-) )

If the dome of the rock, the second most holy place in Islam, is destroyed, expect Jerusalem to follow soon after, as that will definitely start a religious war between nuclear powers.

Herodotus is credited with using the term Palestinian first, in the 5th century BCE as an ethnonym, making no distinction between Arabs, Jews, or other cultures inhabiting of the area. Romans adopted the term as the official administrative name for the region in the 2nd century CE, "Palestine" as a stand-alone term then came into widespread use, printed on coins, in inscriptions and even in rabbinic texts.

I think you are confused about the history, here's a primer...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_and_Judaism_in_the_Land_of_Israel

The area was populated by various people's including Jews until the Jewish–Roman wars of 66–136 CE, during which the Romans expelled most of the Jews from the area (well, really they arguably left voluntarily because they refused to be second class citizens barred from practicing their religion freely) and replaced it with the Roman province of Syria Palaestina, the Arabs were already there, not invaders or immigrants. When Assyrians (Mesopotamians) invaded in circa 722 BCE, they ruled empirically, meaning only the Jewish ruling elite left, returning in 538 BCE under Cyrus the Great....so no, the Arabs didn't just settle after the Jews were dispersed.

It's patently ridiculous to say the Arab nations were unprovoked, Jewish illegal immigration led to a hostile takeover of the region by illegal immigrants with rapid expansion of their territories into their neighbors continuing through today. The Jews defeated the Arabs thanks to American backing and exponentially better hardware. It was only their right if might makes right, and the Arab nations are under no obligation to let them keep what they stole any more than the Jews were obligated to let the Arab nations retain control in the first place. If Iran, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, or any combination can take it, by your logic they have every right to do so.

I do agree, in the end there will be more conflict until the area becomes uninhabitable....largely because every religion's prophecies end with them in control, and no one wants to admit it's all nonsensical iron age tribalism at work.

I will follow you, Namor! First, let me use my Quantum Bands to wreak havoc and sink the entire west coast of the United States into the Pacific. And with the help of the Fantastic Four and the more agreeable Deviants, shield the land mass from all harm and construct that utopia: Atlantis 5.

Yeah, the other Atlantises were blown up and or phased out of time and space, but i have high hopes for A5. Better than liberal hubs named after Mesopotamian cities! Death to the Night Watch and beware gov't telepaths...

I understand what you are saying I would say though that in the past, a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away- media in this country was a bit more "journalistic". Able to take multiple views and be the devil's advocate, if need be. Now everything is streamlined and slimmed down with an agenda set by their corporate sponsors and shareholders. It wasn't ALWAYS like this in the very specific way that it is now.

I think I abstracted my point, sure - Trump would be great for capitalism and business and I do understand why many asshats think "in the box" for that sort of utopian status quo bullshit. Unfortunately, we're no longer in the 50's & 60's... we have MANY issues that demand progressive answers.

Welp, my friends - soon we might just have to join a Snorkel Colony. Thanks Trump, alt-right-wingers & capitalism! I always wanted to go back to my roots in the ocean! Death to the Night Watch and beware gov't telepaths.

Things aren't always as they seem

Yes, I have family I despise, but I still consider them humans (not that I see that as much of a compliment).
My hope would be, once they know they are part African, Asian, Mesopotamian, etc., people wouldn't continue to think of other people in those dehumanizing tribalistic terms.

Edit: Isn't it more likely you would find out that you have unknown ancestors from elsewhere, either because they were wrongly assumed to be "English" or were wrongly assumed to be the father? I thought this video did a good job showing how wrong people's perceptions are about their own ancestry.

Dunno, some relatives really hate each other

I'd love to see my DNA ancestry so I can say nigger (sorry sorry sorry) without white guilt because it says I'm 0.3% Sub-Saharan African.

No rly tho, I'm English as far back as anybody has looked so I'm actually a bit worried that it would turn out that the DNA indicates that my family have been sitting on this island FOREVER. I want an excuse to travel the world to find my "roots", fuck Holidays in the UK, it had best tell me I'm a Slav with bits of African and, err, Turkish! Yeah, I want to see Istanbul. Give me a bit of Turk too please.

Rep. Bridenstine (R - Okla) Questions Obama's Leadership

newtboy says...

"Truth" is an idea in the mind of a crazy person. You don't need to know the truth in order to not lie.
I'm not sure where you pulled "truth" out of, I never wrote the word.
I do not hold ANY beliefs. I railed against those who do. Belief is thinking a thing is 'true' in the face of all evidence to the contrary. I am a scientist, and I think in hypothesis and theory, which allows for new information to reshape my thoughts. (but you seem to have told me to stop accepting new information)
Funny, you seem to have assigned a convenient label to me (liberal-conservative/republicrat-demicon ) not knowing if any fit a single one of my 9 heads. I used the standard anti-Obama stupidity that those who agree with douchebags like this guy use repeatedly, why can they label him but I can't use their label? Please elaborate.
I think perhaps you should take your own advice. That, and try to make cogent sentences/thoughts rather than blather. It's not useful to simply state 'your stupid and wrong and only a programmed idiot, stop trying to get new information and shut up.' without any actual information or even stated ideas to back you up.
That said, where would you suggest one get information if broadcast media and the internet are off limits? Print? HA!!!
As an aside, I don't live in Babylon, I live in the USA. Let the Mesopotamians deal with the turds.

"That's the thing about belief, it's an enemy of fact."

Here's the deal newtboy-In the realm of Babylon, "truth" is a construct of the turds who created the game-There is only true, false, or meaningless with the information you have been provided by those who disseminate. Your own "feelings" and "beliefs" regarding an administration evolved from the ooze you've been programmed with.

You can't assign convenient labels (all ye bivouacked in yon liberal-conservative/republicrat-demicon camps) on a hydra. "socialist Marxist" doesn't apply to a tool like a president; He spews the agenda of those who influence the office most effectively at the time, with a view to cornering the market on worldwide power and influence.

Destroy your fucking television and use the internet for puppies and porn for starters how about??

Reading the Bible Will Make You an Atheist

dystopianfuturetoday says...

r10k, I studied the Bible with a respected religious man; one of the few Americans allowed to view and help decipher the Dead Sea Scrolls. We used an annotated version of the Bible that explained the puns, double meanings and other linguistic aspects that would be lost on someone who just picked up a King James at Barnes & Noble. My Prof. provided context, historical and cultural. He showed us more ancient Mesopotamian mythology that contained stories remarkably similar to those in the Bible. He, a religious man (Jewish), presented the book for what it was, with no apologies or attempts to shield us from the books' many contradictions and logical inconsistencies. Warts and all.

I seem to meet all your criteria for being able to have an opinion on the Bible. I've got context, depth and the instruction of a very wise religious scholar. No offense, but I probably understand this book better than you ever will, and yet....

My critical mind tells me this is mythology, like Zeus, or Beowulf, or Gilgamesh, or Frodo, Bilbo and Dumbledore. These are campfire stories from pre-scientific times that attempt to explain the -then many- mysteries of existence. Those days are gone, and we now know that we are not at the center of the universe, that space isn't made of water, that stars are not lights, that the world is not flat, that humans are part of an evolutionary chain and that the earth is billions of years old. Perhaps it's time to embrace the future, r10k, and leave the cave drawings behind you.

Just one person's opinion.... I could be wrong.

Obama's Message To American Indians

blankfist says...

^All great points. I am torn on the issue, to be honest. I do believe the Natives received an unfair shake from white settlers. Though, once something is set into motion, how can you properly reverse it without hurting those who were born into a situation that had nothing to do with their ancestors' involvement in the past? The Mesopotamian wars ruined many sovereign cultures, and I don't think we could ever go back and reinstate them.

Generations of people come and go, and I don't think one generation should be slave to another of the past - and certainly they shouldn't be slave to their ancestors' past mistakes. Therefore, I certainly do not think Israel has a right to their land today, and I think the US is terribly wrong for supporting them.

War is wrong and immoral, but it's also a natural way of things for our species. One day the USA and Canada will no longer exist, and should those future inhabitants born into that new Nation be held accountable to reinstate our sovereignty? I think not. You cannot help where you are born. Each generation should be held unaccountable.
