Best Shootout goal ever in ICE Hockey?

MilkmanDan says...

I love the NHL, and I always get annoyed with advertising when I see Premier League Football (soccer). NHL sweaters/jerseys have some great designs, with standouts really exploring the theme/logo/imagery of the team. And then you've got Premiere League jerseys, with a MASSIVE chest logo shilling for some corporate sponsor and a tiny team logo in a font/height about 1/10th the size of that sponsor logo. No "I" in team, but apparently there are plenty of $'s.

Then again, I guess that even in the NHL there are advertising logos on every single square inch of the boards above the ice surface and under the glass.

Not to mention that damn near every single arena/field is now known as [Insert Bank/Corporation/Conglomeration name here] Center. Remember when those places used to be named for great players or coaches attached to the franchise, or some other thematic element of the team or city? I guess big props are due for Detroit's Joe Louis Arena and NYC's Madison Square Garden, the only non-shill NHL venues I can come up with off the top of my head (did I miss any?).

Sometimes I get all disgusted with how you can't go 2 goddamn seconds without having somebody try to sell you something. Yay capitalism, I guess.

Sorry, /rant off.

Europeans are big on in the rink advertising but Holy Crap is right. I've never seen that much shit on the ice.

Ever thought of hitting on a comic mid-set?

One of my favorite bits from his show is the confrontation outside, when he explains the 15 minutes of joy he gets each week, that she just fucked up. The show just gets better and better.>> ^Yogi:

Hey, She said she wanted a boyfriend. He stepped up. She shot him down. Then she pushed his face in the dirt a bit. I wonder why she is single and looking... ?

She's on a stage...doing a bit. Whether it's Carolines or Madison Square Garden, it's still a performance don't interrupt.
Otherwise you're just a cunt like that woman in Louie.

Did not want to confuse the title with " part 1 excerpt" would not have fitted and less of these monkeys would of even looked at it if they had to read more than a couple words in the title.

All in all I wanted to post it for the light show and sounds.

Weird, I didn't hear any chord progressions that resembled "Love Like a Sunset". I could be wrong, of course.

Un Chien Andalou - Surrealist Film

Never heard of this film until I was at Bowie's Madison Square Garden "Station to Station" concert in 1976. This film was the opening act. You can imagine the sound of 18,000 people reacting to the eyeball scene, took everyone off-guard. I kept cringing for the rest of the film, thinking we were going to see more of the same weirdness. Nobody knew what the film was, when the guy was looking at the ants in his hand people were wondering if it was Bowie in the film, that he had made the film himself for the tour. Definitely confused everyone. The band started playing "Station to Station" as the movie screen was rolling up afterwards, went on to be an incredible show.

"Heroes" - David Bowie

ulysses1904 says...

I got to see Bowie at Madison Square Garden in 1976, on the Station to Station tour. I still listen to the bootleg from the Nassau Coliseum Long Island show from that tour, his band was so tight, they were amazing. Then came "Low" which along with "Station to Station" was Bowie at his peak for me. A lot of the "Heroes" album was pretty disposable but the title track really does stand out. I stopped listening to him after "Lodger".
