Cenk Uygur Joins Current TV
Great!
From denverpost.com:
Uygur's show will precede "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" at 7 p.m. Eastern each weeknight. Like Olbermann, Uygur was formerly a presence on cable-news network MSNBC. Olbermann left MSNBC last January and soon afterward joined Current, where "Countdown" resumed in June as the centerpiece of a planned full night of talk programing.

"We'll be bringing the Turks as well as Cenk," Bohrman said. "The group, with its free-wheeling dynamic, isn't really the Cenk you saw on MSNBC."

Cenk Uygur On Why He Is Leaving MSNBC
Mr. Uygur, I believe Keith Olbermann at CurrentTV is on line 1...
Keith Olbermann Details How Rupert Murdoch Blackmailed Him
I don't think he was talking about lack of whistleblowers in general...but whistleblowers from within the Murdoch organization.
BTW...this just in "Sean Hoare, the former News of the World showbiz reporter who was the first named journalist to allege Andy Coulson was aware of phone hacking by his staff, has been found dead, the Guardian has learned.">> ^radx:
How ironic that Olbermann is complaining, indirectly, about a lack of whistleblowers.
The entire Murdoch/NotW scandal is based almost solely on the relentless work of the Guardian's Nick Davies, who kept digging and digging until they couldn't bury it anymore. The very same Nick Davies who brought the Guardian and Julian Assange together, the same Nick Davies who is very outspoken with regards to the mistreatment of, allegedly, the most prominent whistleblower of our days -- Bradley Manning.
Olbermann: "Face It! We Do Not Take Care Of Each Other"
"After six months off the air, Keith Olbermannreturned to television Monday night with a new edition of "Countdown" on Current TV." - Posted: 06/20/11 07:40 PM ET

Keith and Rush are way too famous to engage us here, but we might be able to get a small time internet broadcaster like this Mark guy to come on. It would be great advertising for his site and maybe dag could give him a discounted ad banner for a day or two.

Haha. Yeah, and while we're at it why don't we invite Keith Olbermann and Rush Limbaugh to VS to debate with us too.
In reply to this comment by dystopianfuturetoday:
You should ask Mark to join VS and we could have the debate right here. I'd be down for that.

Actually, one of the other guys on that link (Mark Edge) is a cohost on a podcast/radio station I listen to when I'm working. http://freetalklive.com
You should check them out so you can call in and debate them. That would be fun to listen to.

Keith Olbermann Announces His New Show
That's what I meant, I was curious if he was taking subtle shots at how MSNBC operates in the first 30 seconds.>> ^NetRunner:
>> ^RedSky:
It would be interesting to see how much of what he says is attributable to MSNBC. All of it?
Not entirely sure what you meant by that, but I'm curious to see what's different about how he covers things on Current, especially given what he says here about having formerly been restrained by corporate interests at MSNBC.

^Define marriage on your own religious terms if you want to, but saying marriage is defined as "a union between a man and a woman" is complete and utter bullshit. Marriage isn't about definitions or politics, Keith Olbermann said it best. This is about the human heart.
You talk about "redefining" marriage. If we hadn't "redefined marriage" it would still be illegal for a black man to marry a white woman. Anishnabek women would still be loosing their Indian status if they had "the audacity" to marry a white man.
You wanna talk about being illogical? The American Medical Association, The American Psychiatrics Association, The American Psychological Association, and God knows how many other level-headed scientists and doctors out there, all recognize that Homosexuality isn't a fucking choice.
I'm gonna stop now, I'm getting too emotionally invested in this to be civil.
