Bernie Sanders Explains His Reluctance To Endorse Hillary

Lawdeedaw says...

So...basically what you admire about him he must then throw off in order for you to be happy with him? I am not sure you understand what morals and values are. As Jon Stewart once said of the Republicans, morals and values are not morals and values if you change them when the situation changes! Those are whims and fancies!

I so admire Mr Sanders.

That might be shaken after the Dem Convention, if he doesn't strongly endorse Clinton.

Because it isn't just politics at this point -- it is a two way horse race with passions running high.

I have to self-soothe by endlessly repeating -- it is a loooong time until November. It is a very looooooog time until November. There is enough time for Sanders to do what he says at the very beginning of this interview -- EVERYTHING HE CAN TO DEFEAT TRUMP.

Stephen Colbert: Trump "knows who the real audience is"

brycewi19 says...

The only thing I don't believe is when he repeats that he doesn't know anything about politics.
I'm sorry, Steven, I know you're trying to be humble and to deflect to your comedian nature, but of course you know politics. You're now doing the same thing Jon Stewart did all these years - pretend to know nothing while absolutely knowing a ton and teaching us all how to think in the system.

You have taken over for Stewart now. It's just the humility is a bit thinly veiled.

Start Getting Used To Saying President Trump

poolcleaner says...

Can we just vote for Colbert to be president? That's what I'm going to do. I've decided that if my vote is truly a personal decision and a reflection of who I feel is the leader AMERICA needs, I'm voting Stephen Colbert. Or Conan O'Brien. I'm still undecided on my vote actually. If Jon Stewart ran, that may change everything.

I recorded and watched his series finale. It was weak compared to other late night talk shows including Jay Leno's! Where is Jon Stewart going?

Jon Stewart On What He's Meant: Charlie Rose

Me too. I know a lot of people made a big deal of Letterman finishing, but to me, Jon Stewart is far more important.

At least we still have John Oliver.

I found it somewhat funny that they went on about his transparency and honesty -- and then said they didn't know what he was going to do now that he has left the show (with one exception, one person got it immediately.) Jon has been 100% upfront. Transparent and honest. I'm going to miss him desperately....
