Independence Day-1st Aerial Battle
It is exactly what it advertises itself to be...Independence Day! A flag-waving, speech making, trash-talking America squashes the aliens CGI fest. Thanks firefly for spreading the love.
Independence Day-1st Aerial Battle
I didn't watch the clip, as the movie deserves better. It blows my mind to think this movie is about to turn eleven years old. One of the few truly classic popcorn movies to emerge from the 90s. I rented it last summer and it was great fun to watch in privacy with the subwoofer cranked up. Other classic 90s popcorn flicks: T2, Jurassic Park, Armageddon, The Matrix. Popcorn movies are allowed to be mindless if they deliver an entertaining spectacle. Classic status means it holds up or even improves on repeated viewings over long spans of time. Question: on those merits, would you guys call "Speed" a classic? I bought it recently and it seems like a classic to me.
I would have liked Independence Day to be darker, but it probably wouldn't have made as much money and definitely wouldn't be as much admittedly dumb fun. The design in this movie's great. I'd love to see a sequel.
By the way, I watch lots of "real cinema" too. I loves movies.
