Oh shit!! Sydney Powell has pleaded guilty to election interference and 6 other charges and agreed to testify against Trump this morning. So now the main architect of the fake elector scheme admits they illegally tried to steal the presidency through multiple frauds directed by Trump himself.

Her trial started tomorrow. She must now testify fully and truthfully or she’s going away for decades.

He plead not guilty when the prosecutor reneged on the agreement that these guilty pleas, payment of taxes, fines, and probation would end the endless criminal investigations of alleged past white collar crimes and would cover all tax or gun/drug cases that might arise from pre 2021, including those still being investigated despite being well beyond the statute of limitation.

It never covered FUTURE crimes, no plea deal in history has ever granted immunity for FUTURE crimes. Another stupid MAGA lie bobby swallowed.

Remember how right-wingers would argue that poor people didn't have any "skin-in-the-game" because they didn't own land? I think people making the rules and laws should be expected to live under them for a minimum of 20 years, maybe more, making the age cutoff for election below 60. Nobody is getting smarter or more up to date and in tune with current events and new advanced methods of problem solving after 60.
Once upon a time experience was a valuable feature in a politician, but today the best you could say is they have lots of experience at failure and partisan gridlock no matter which party they’re in. 2 terms is enough for presidents, it should be plenty for senators, representatives, and Supreme Court justices. Professional politicians are an anathema to America, as is a political ruling class or politicians getting rich while in office, and we now have all 3 as the norm.

I’ve always thought it was a horrific decision, but not at all because of the immediate effects or massive death and destruction they caused in Japan….they fucked around and found out and deserved everything they got (and I was unaware the Russian Manchurian offensive timing, but it’s even more reason to not drop a second bomb or even a first if we knew it was coming).

I think it was horrific because we had no idea what the long term effects of even minimal fallout might be, and in fall/winter the jet stream runs from Japan directly to the highly populated West coast (which we knew well thanks to balloon bombs), so some portion of the fallout was guaranteed to fall on millions of US citizens. We lucked out that it wasn’t deadly a year later, and didn’t cause horrible birth defects with near zero exposure…we had no concrete idea at the time though just guesses, and still don’t have a clear idea of how much it contributed to higher cancer rates in the US.

Keep in mind, we had no idea what discussions the Japanese were having amongst themselves , so no idea how effective our bombs nor the Manchurian offensive were at persuading them to surrender. Hindsight is 2020, but at the time we were flying blind.

The uncertain risk there of possibly killing millions of ourselves or gimping or sterilizing or even Cronenberging entire future generations for the comparatively minimal convenience of not using conventional bombs, to me, is no where near worth it. There were just too many unanswered questions about too many factors. I’m sure the soldiers fighting at the time would feel differently.

If Trump and republicans had done their job securing borders when they had 100% control of the government instead of trying to build a useless monument to himself, this could be a non issue. Instead, illegal immigration ramped up under Trump thanks in part to the intentional slowdown and shrinking of the legal immigration process, shrinking of the border control agent pool, and misuse of border funding to build a useless fence that’s breached with ease daily.

Biden and Democrats tried to hire tons more border agents, MAGA/republicans blocked it. Republicans then continue to go on TV to say the borders are wide open, knowing those statements are shown in central/South America and convince immigrants it’s the time to come.

What has Texas or Florida done to stop immigrants? Nothing useful at all, just political stunts that, while costing $10 billion, caught zero immigrants or drugs, and economy destroying new laws.
