A Dumbfuck George W Moment You Haven't Heard Yet

I take no pleasure in Britain quickening demise; anywhere socialism rises, freedom falls, that's how it always ends. Fortunately, neither my being a bot or you being a non-expert will make this explanation difficult:
People have unlimited wants and a supposed set of finite needs. When socialists attempt to satisfy basic needs (with other people's money) it works at first, until people realize they can satisfy more of their wants by relabeling them needs (or rights). Health care is a right. Daycare is a right. Living wage is a right, etc.
British "conservatism" is a far cry from American conservatism. Define it as, "Too little, too late".
Britain leads Europe in the proportion of single mothers and co-leads the European Union in violent crime, alcohol and drug abuse, obesity and sexually transmitted diseases. Yep, that must all be due to conservatism! Certainly the welfare state wouldn't destroy people's interest in helping themselves.

Oh, where to begin?
There are probably dozens of these moments on the scorecard of every celebrity, great and small. I'll even give Obama a free pass for calling Hawaii "ASIA" during one of his many campaign stops taxpayer-funded vacations important meetings. Props to the libmedia who downplay His Earness's gaffes. His larger gaffes, like the economy, price of gasoline, failures as Commander-In-Chief, we'll leave to the few history books not written by leftards.
Referring to this BBC show: no one across the pond should be calling anyone here dumb. USA may be almost a police state, but Britain's been disarmed and defeated by socialism for decades. Bankrupt Eurounion. Smile for the 10,000,000 cameras, serfs.
Wales? Not enough to even register one who-gives-a-shit. Last time I heard of anything Welsh was a maintenance man killed by a werewolf in Stephen King's Silver Bullet.
Bush flew jets. You're a spoiled singer. Deal.
You're wearing me down QM. I actually agree with almost everything you just said. Will this cost me some power points or something?
Really though I dont respond well to criticisms from across the pond right now, I dont think they have our back, I'm not sure they have their own back.

Heh. I guess i better say something like "Welcome to the UK, bitch!" Nice insult. But don't get too in-depth with QM, i suspect he's actually just a cleverly programmed bot that repeats political catchphrases and buzzwords from fox news.
For example - margaret thatcher was in power up until 1990 and elected 11 years before that. So i think it's fairly safe to say that she was in charge of "Britain" 20 years ago. Margaret thatcher was not a socialist - she was incredibly critical of it, and her policies reflected that.
Many of Britain's big state owned companies/whatever were privatised, john major followed and was himself a thatcherite, followed by labour around the millennium who were more willing to adopt in-place conservative economic policies.
So it's relatively safe to say that britain has become significantly less socialist since 30 years ago and was well into that stride 20 years ago.
But of course, he's just a political catchphrase bot, that's why he said "Britain's been defeated by socialism since...", there's no meaning behind it.
I'm no expert on politics (which makes me immediately more qualified than QM), but i think one word you couldn't apply to margaret thatcher's britain is socialist.
We're IN a shit state because of thatcher. The Britain we all remember fondly? Amazing NHS, schools, industry, army, politeness, fairness? That's pre-80s britain, dude.

Then you have once more constructed a circular argument in which you win.

If socialism is in place, we are defeated by socialism.
If socialism is not in place, we are defeated by socialism?

You leave no criteria for the answer to be any different, as far as i can tell this argument leads to the idea that even if socialism didn't exist we'd be defeated by it.

This is *parody criticising the European Union wanting to ban pipe-shaped licorice because it "makes children think drugs are good". The guy is not a retard, even though his nostrils are weird and he has an ugly shirt.

I was wondering for minute if this guy was developmentally disabled, but i thought he was talking too rapidly to be.

also.. on an unrelated note... i finish school monday and will be sifting less. because i only sift when i want to avoid homework. its weird that people sift when they have nothing to do. i only sift when i have things i need to do. i'm a professional procrastinator.

Oh I understand, it's called being caught by the short and curlies...the UK has been systemayically fist-fucked by the same group of assholes that has been fucking the US
since the fed took over policy at the beginning of the last century-and no doubt the US will not begin to see light until our proposed merger, it's the only out unless there is a collective awakening. Obama is a yes man for wall street, a brilliant actor who is probably scared -shit-less to speak against his keepers......he's a good house nigger for the bossman........I can't return responses privately...the only function I can't use post-ban.....sorrry bout that

In reply to this comment by rasch187:
The European Economic Community (European Union now) is the best thing that ever happened to the UK. Without it, they would be fucked economicly. Another approach would have been to join EFTA, but that would have been suicide for a powerful nation in the European area, as they would have to accept all the legislation made by the EU and the European Commission deciding how much they would have to pay to stay a member (which would have been unproportional if based on what Norway, as a member of EFTA pays).

Yeah, what the government did wasn't very democratic, but trust me, the UK citizens and businesses have prospered greatly by being a part of the EU.

In reply to this comment by choggie:

Endless mind-numbing editorials on issues which be merely symptoms of the beast, the emperor with no clothes or skin, for that matter.....The United States will fall in lock-step not unlike the UK did when she was welcomed into the EU against the will of the people, and by mandate of her cunt royal family, god-damned empire-building elitist scumbag fucks that they are. Kill them all, scatter their children's ashes on the dung heap of history.

Chris Matthews To Protester: Why Did You Bring A Gun To Obam

Where do people have the most guns?

Where do people watch the most Sesame Street? Case closed. Correlation is not causation.

Chris Matthews To Protester: Why Did You Bring A Gun To Obam

jubuttib says...

>> ^BansheeX:
I believe that's incorrect. People are far more likely to use force against someone who is unarmed. No fear of being hurt themselves. Gun ownership is a great deterrent against crime. Believe me, if we could wave a magic wand and confiscate firearms only from thieves, rapists, and psychopaths, I would. But that's fairy land.
On a larger level, the amount of guns in this country makes it virtually immune to invasion, too. Unfortunately, we didn't need any help from anyone else to ignore constitution and destroy our economy. I'm a Ron Paul guy, but I prefer to just watch the country unwittingly vote the dollar into oblivion. If people can still convince themselves that it's best to ban competing currencies, price fix interest rates, tax one legal behavior more than another, let them do it. Then there will be no one left to point to but themselves when it comes crashing down for real.

Just thought i'd leave this here in case you didn't read it on the page - it might explain something as to why people get in some way snippy when people american people talk about "europe".

Please ignore the insult at the end, it wasn't aimed at you, i include it because it's in the original, i directed it to the people who mass-upvoted a comment comparing the diversity of "europe" to the diversity of the US.

I hope you understand what i mean here, it's really hard to explain how apathetic we are about being part of "europe" and how we feel completely unconnected. I can't think of a parallel for you, it's just a feeling you get when you live here for a while. And a feeling of "not being connected to the countries you are supposed to be connected to" is a really unique emotion

backpacking for two weeks? through europe? i guess he's another of those ignorants who think of europe as one single country. it's a CONTINENT! what do you expect to see of a whole continent in two weeks? even if he managed to see 4 countries that's nothing. awkward attitude.

Why do you have to be a dick about it? If I can easily make a road trip through the U.S. and see all kinds of sights, why couldn't I backpack through Europe in two weeks? What you just said is the equivalent of saying "he must be another of those ignorants that thinks of the U.S. as one single country and not 50 states." WTF does it matter if he said he's going backpacking through Europe? I if go backpacking and visit Paris, London,
Berlin and Barcelona, why am I not allowed to say "Europe"?

So many right things and so many wrong things in 1 paragraph. You're right, his pomposity was bullshit, but so is your comparison of america to europe.

Although you can OF COURSE visit a great section of europe in 2 weeks, i think what many people don't understand is that a lot of people over here have never even consider themselves european. I can barely call on an equivalent for you guys because there's nothing similar for you that i can imagine.

We never really refer to europe exept in terms of the european parliament etc. So for most people, if you were having a conversation and said "yeah i went to europe, i went to spain and portugal" they'd chuckle - not because they're being pompous or anything, but because most of us see it as such a vague term for such an aggregate mass of countries - and we don't feel bound to each other in any way. We'd only say we'd been to "europe" if we'd visited like 90% of the total countries. And even then we'd only say something like "i've been to most countries in europe"

I'm having a very hard to explaining that although we have a collection of countries that are associated and the european union and all that jive, to the average european civilian, we could not be further divided from our other european neighbors.

I as a british citizen feel more associated, connected, whatever with the USA than i do with "europe"

/facepalms all round

I think next chance i see i'm going to randomly lash out at someone and make a vaguely pro-american statement and see how many votes i get

Jean-Marie Le Pen addresses the European Union

Ornthoron says...

>> ^Fade:
The fact of the matter is he is right about the people of Europe disagreeing with what the ruling elite is trying to do.

That may be so, and I am even inclined to agree. But that doesn't mean that Le Pen is a suitable spokesman for the people. The European Union is in desperate need of reformation, and the Lisbon Treaty was a part of that. I believe the treaty was a bad piece of work and was rushed through too fast without proper debate. But a lot of the ideas in it were good, at least much better than what Le Pen is proposing. See Farhad's references for what we would get more of with Le Pen in charge.

Jean-Marie Le Pen addresses the European Union

Ornthoron says...

>> ^Pprt:
He talks here of Dhimmitude and bending to terrorists. To claim that Islam has nothing to do with the present and future of Europe is pure ignorance.

I don't claim that. I claim that the content of this video is not sufficient to put it in the Islam channel. He talks of terrorism in general, among them the FARC guerilla, not specifically about islamic terrorism. The main body of the video is about European politics, not Islam as such. Thus the removal. I don't know about the other videos you mention, as I haven't seen them, but when I see a video that doesn't belong in a channel, I remove it. Now it was this one. Nothing personal. If you insist so hard that it belongs in Islam, we can * discuss it. I believe there is precedence for my decision; see i.e. the video that got CP420 banned.

Jean-Marie Le Pen addresses the European Union

Ornthoron says...

>> ^Pprt:
Everyone is booing because he's ruffling feathers by holding an unpopular opinion towards immigration.

No, they're not. They are booing because he holds despicable opinions, and that is why they are unpopular. Sometimes opinions are unpopular for a reason, and the "ruffling of feathers" you speak so fondly of is nothing more than sensationalism.

But the reaction from the delegates here is not the correct one. Instead of laughing at him, which only makes them seem uppity, they should ignore him and get on with some real policy making instead of the innuendo that has gripped the EU the last couple of years. This right-wing bordering on fascism conspiracy theorist lives in the past, and doesn't deserve more attention.

And this video has nothing to with islam, other than the fact that some of the immigrants might be muslim. Read the channel description. It doesn't belong in humanitarian either, as Le Pen's plans does nothing to alleviate suffering, only to create a protectionist xenophobic Europe.

Obama downplays the CFR and North American Union

jwray says...

The idea of the CFR as an evil cabal trying to railroad through a North American Union without the consent of the American people is a ludicrous conspiracy theory with no credible evidence to back it up.
=Disagreeing with someone's false premises is not an ad hominem attack.

Though if North America were to copy the European Union (and abolish USA's unfair agriculture subsidies) that would be fabulous.
