I wish this had been posted in its entirety so as to stimulate the discussion it was meant to stimulate.
I agree completely to the reasoning that it was made. Rap used to be a bold cultural statement that was uniquely that of it's creators.

The music industry had bastardized it into marginalized pop music at best. It became the trend to use the music to rise up out of the poverty. Once this trend started, The industry started to engineer it's own studio created blase crap and as long as money was involved, every one went along with it.

I miss the days of Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Grand Master Flash, Shinehead, Big Daddy Kane, Ice-T, Roxanne Shante and rest of the artists who pioneered the movement. I can't stand the stuff they call Rap now, the mainstream crap that flaunts a big bass, naked girls and MTV style.

It's like if U2 sold out and started making Pop albums and sat back and waited to get paid!
The Empowerment these artists garnered for themselves is all but gone. Sucked into the void of MTV and money sucking "soulless" big business, just like every other fresh music style to come along.

But that's just my opinion....

DJ Bad Boy Bill - Disco Mix Club (DMC) DJ Battle (1989)

djsunkid says...

That's hilarious! I didn't know that BBB had been a DMC contestant. I just always thought of him as a popular tech-house DJ.

The "tricks" in this are hilarious. I'm so glad that the turntablist scene has moved away from that sort of thing. My favourite trick I ever heard of was DJ swamp cutting himself with a broken record at the DMC final. I wonder if there is a video of that on youtube...?

Don't think that all Americans swallow these lies whole. To say that is foolish, and its the same thinking that causes stupid wars like this. There are some here who think that wars are shit, and when the protest the mostly end up in detention centers.

Next time some one says a war should be fought tell themwith disdain "Then go fight in it."

This is everyday at high school for me. I was the only one who could pull off jumping jacks in the routine.

There is something different about this Run DMC video that I can't quite figure out.

Zero Punctuation - Devil May Cry 4

Unfortunately, I love his reviews, and they are funny. But in this case I have to fully disagree. Devil May Cry is some of the most fun I've had in a single player game in awhile. I don't understand his problem with it at all. Much like every hack and slash game out there, yes it can get a bit redundant. But the story is actually good, and so are the cut scenes. DMC is just one of those series you either love or hate.

Halo 3: Homophobia Evolved (NSFW)

sometimes:
It's kinda the same thing. What if I walked down the street or got up on stage always singing about how great white people are and how proud I am to be white? How do you think people would react? What would people of other races think about me?

An example of how this is just as silly:
"The world's full of hate discrimination and sin
People judgin other people by the color of skin
I'll attack this matter, in my own way"
-Run-DMC

...and then he goes on to single out a few great people simply because they have black skin. What about Abe Lincoln? Didn't he do something great for the black race? What if Martin Luther King Jr. was white? Asking not to be judged by something (i.e. Skin Color, sexual orientation) and then "Flaunting" it by talking about it all the time and being proud of the fact that it makes you different, is just childish to me. I want to be judged by my accomplishments and my deeds, not any other way. So, that's what I draw to other peoples attn by the things I say and by the way I act.

I don't go around screaming about how proud I am to be tall. It's obvious to everyone that I'm better than you when you stand next to me and you look all shrimpy.
