O'Reilly Exposes Palin: Still no new ideas from hockey mom

ridesallyridenc says...

Palin: "We're going to fix it!!"

How?

"By fixing it?"

But these are human beings. How will we fix these problems without putting people through terrible circumstances?

"We're gonna, you betcha!!"

---

You would really think she would have gotten beyond sound bites by now and at least given thought to how she will stand on her key issues. She seems no more prepared now as she did back in that disastrous katie couric interview...

Sorry, Bryce, the guy's clueless.
Stopped watching when he said Couric, Williams, and Cooper were the "teeter-totter" counter-weights of Limbaugh.
Limbaugh is shoved down people's throats. Clear Channel has a definite right-wing agenda: it's pure propaganda.

Sorry Bryce? Dude, I didn't make the video. But everyone certainly is talking, which is kinda the point, right?

Sarah Palin Book Signing - Meet The Fans

longde says...

When has Palin actually limited the size and scope of government? When she supported the "bridge to nowhere" ($398 MILLION in federal funds that she didn't return when the project was eventually cancelled)? When she ran up her state's travel expense accounts on her and her family for non-business? When she abused her powers to get her ex-brother in law sacked? Yeah, that's a real small government conservative.

For you to choose to vote for someone who is obviously incompetent over someone whose politics you merely differ with is crazy. I've voted for 3rd party candidates before; at least go that route.

I shiver at the thought of Palin in a meeting with Hu Jintao, Medvedev or Netanyahoo. She'd get eaten alive. She can't even handle Katie Couric.

Either you haven't thought it through or you are crazy.

>>Guiness world record. Largest amount of neo-cons getting ready to go in a bookstore EVER.
Sigh... Palin is not a neo-con. Neo-cons are big government conservatives. Palin is a small government conservative. That's why she's so popular - most Republicans had to hold their noses to vote for GWB the second time and many rejected McCain, because they were both for the massive expansion of government. See for example Spendulus I. Obama continued the trend with Spendulus II.
Conservatives are (rightly) asking where all the money for the Spendulus bills will come from, and the Republican Party is providing no leadership in opposing the expansion of government - the party is nearly rudderless. Even though Palin wouldn't be my ideal candidate for president, I'd vote for most any candidate that was for limiting the size of government. Last year I voted Libertarian (Bob Barr), for example. If Palin ran against Obama, I'd vote for her.
All the liberal FUD aside, her stances on the issues are actually quite thoughtful and reasonable. I've followed her notes on Facebook from time to time:
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=90735023434#/notes.php?
id=24718773587
(Expecting to get automatically comment-downvoted by anyone who disagrees with my politics.)

TDS: Jon Stewart explains why he doesnt like Sarah Palin

BicycleRepairMan says...

Not saying she's the person to vote for, but to say that "there's nothing there" is both inaccurate and disingenous.

No it's not.
"Nothing there" doesnt mean she's not doing what the talking points says, or even that she doesnt agree with them, it just means that she doesn't THINK when she gets a question. Its so bleeding obvious you'd have to be blind to miss it. She simply repeats some conservative mantras that frequently has nothing to do with the question she was asked.. If you look at any other politicians, even George W. Bush, you can atleast trust that he answers the questions he gets asked, even if those answers are lies or just plain fucking stupid) ie: "Bring 'em on" ) atleast he could usually cough up an actual answer. Palin does none of that, she replies with talking points that often shows she doesnt even understand the question. look at this answer:

COURIC: Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

PALIN: That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

Now what the fuck does this even mean? Random rambling about tax-cuts and "job creation". Obviously, her answer should have been something like "Because if these big institutions fail, it will be worse for everyone, and heres why:---" But because she doesnt really even consider the question, she just makes up an answer with some conservative ear-candy in there and , as was said, there really is nothing there.

Glenn Beck squirms away from explaining "White Culture"

She's looking to put a feather in her cap at the expense of someone's career. Beck is right not to answer this. Couric is too daft to stop asking after he told her he wasn't going to answer the question.

Is that the best defense you have of Beck in this video? If there was nothing wrong with his original statement, then there should be nothing wrong with elaborating on and explaining it. Couric's intentions shouldn't matter, in fact if she had some kind of career-cannabilistic malicious intent, that's all the more reason to set her straight with an intelligent answer.

^Oh, I don't know . . . isn't Katie Couric a journalist? And didn't she win a Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism for an interview she did with Sarah Palin?

She's called a journalist, and this is called journalism, but I'm reminded that on my bookshelf is a rock that looks like a potato.

It's not a softball question. It's the question.

This isn't journalism. It's gnostic condescension. She's looking to put a feather in her cap at the expense of someone's career. Beck is right not to answer this. Couric is too daft to stop asking after he told her he wasn't going to answer the question.

I remember when FOX and it's representatives weren't given the time of day. Ever. What happened to that? Now that FOX is the big dog the other outlets fall all over themselves to talk about FOX and rail against FOX and interview FOX commentators. I guess FOX must really get inside people's heads.

Glenn Beck squirms away from explaining "White Culture"

This tops the Palin interview in my opinion. Three minutes of delicious waffling! Pass the syrup!

And Katie Couric did not let up with the question. After every waffle, she calmly posited the question again and again. Very effective demeanor, a good contrast to a blustery Chris Matthews interrogation. I think she made Beck look more the fool.

And, what's so hard about the question? It's a very simple, innocuous query. I think Beck was afraid he would not be able to control himself, and say something he usually posts on Stormfront.

....Either that or inadvertently confess to that rape and murder.
