Christine O'Donnell Is Dumber Than We Thought

VoodooV says...

it's like a child trying to talk at the grownup table. IIRC she was exactly the same in her days on Politically Incorrect. She'd double down on these insane positions, and everyone else would be wtf? you are provably wrong and she'd just continue talking over everyone.

Bill Maher was absolutely correct in last week's show. You cannot have a civil discussion if you cannot agree on basic facts. This was demonstrated in his opening interview with her. The jobs report says that a higher than expected number of jobs were added (still lower than it needs to be, but increasing all the same) which Bill was arguing for, and Christine argues that jobs actually decreased. The report says that unemployment dropped from 8.3 to 8.1 but somehow there are less jobs.

When you have this level of spin and partisanship, you simply cannot have a constructive process. There has to be some fundamental things everyone agrees upon and when you have two political structures disagreeing over even the most trivial things.

When our credit rating got dropped. It had nothing to do with the debt itself, that commission that dropped the rating specifically cited the inability of congress of getting shit done and the level of political bickering and shenanigans.

The president has fuckall to do with that. We keep focusing on the Executive Branch when the real power is in the Legislative.

The nation does not turn on a dime. Like the guy said in the show. This magic metric of "four years" is a completely shitty way of measuring success or failure. Shit at that level does not take effect overnight and lasts for years, if not decades.

The Fine Art of Walking Out
"A former Senate candidate in the second-smallest state in the country talking to a CNN host who's losing in the ratings to Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow and sometimes Dr. Drew wasn't going to create a huge splash — absent that walk-out.... It's hard to imagine that anything could have happened to Piers Morgan more fabulous than being walked out on by Christine O'Donnell."

Ha Ha - Right - Can't believe I said that - Hydrogen and Oxygen (H20) is what I mean to say - amazing no one else picked up on that

I'm not from, nor do I live in the United States but this is about a scary as a Chemist saying "You mean water actually has Water AND Oxygen in it. Where is it because I only see liquid."
If you don't know even the most basic principals of something, you shouldn't be in that business.

Hmmm.. TECHNICALLY, water does not contain ANY water...

Thanks,

It's strange, I remember learning evolution around grade three and then it was just always a given from there out.

I always hit patches of religion when I grew up, mainly when I went to Grandma's house but it was always something other people were in to and no one ever preached it. It's the type of thing that is there but each to their own.

I believed in Christin religion the same way I believed in anything. (Narnia, LOTR, Greek Myth, Star Wars, etc.) Every set of stories had their cast of players but non of it was ever taken more than the fiction it was. And no one ever argued or pushed their views - no debates.

Which is why I find it so bizarre that people even can conceive of putting creationism above scientific fact like it is equal on the same scale of reality. People are blurring the lines of fiction vs. reality and I truly don't understand it.

Sage,

Hey i saw your post and wanted to clarify... from at least my perspective. I'm a recent grad and am from a state where this is most certainly an issue.

It is my understanding and personal experience that evolution is part of the curriculum in all biology courses in public school (barring minority exceptions).

The debate seems more focused around it being the only 'theory' taught. In many states folks would like to see competing 'theories' added to the curriculum, most notably 'creationism'.

Again... only my experience... i'd be willing to ask friends from other parts of the country now that i'm at university... but i really do suspect that they would have similar experiences.

In reply to this comment by Sagemind:
So what I'm hearing here is Evolution isn't taught in many US High schools (??)

I'd like to try something, everyone answer these two questions.

Question One: Were you taught evolution in school?
Question Two: Which one do you sway towards? Evolution or Creationism

This is what an angry Chihuahua sounds like in slow motion.

Unedited Christine O'Donnell:What's the 1st Amendment Again?

Drachen_Jager says...

And I suspect she's hurting the other TP candidates on the way... She's receiving national attention and probably more coverage in Nevada than Sharon Angle for instance. I think if people look at Angle and see O'Donnell they'll either stay home or vote against this kind of lunacy.

After all, Angle is only O'Donnell with enough years to know when to shut her pie-hole.

Don't worry; she's stopping herself.
