This girl is 5 years old. Over the past 5 years, in every commercial she's seen on TV, on every magazine cover she's seen by the checkout counter when she's grocery shopping with her parents, in the majority of the cartoons she's watched and the dolls she's probably played with, in every reaction she's seen in adults' faces to how women dress and behave, she's been culturally programmed with and internalized what modern Western society deems as "beautiful."

It's unavoidable, really, as @Truckchase pointed out above. It's part of the socialization process. But if you've read about how Carrie Fisher struggled with body image issues and eating disorders throughout the filming of the original trilogy, then you probably (like me) find this video more tragic than cute.

Every time she's been on Ferguson, Carrie Fisher claims she was strung out during that period of her life. She talks about her stints in rehab and loony bins on Ferguson fairly often. At least that's what I gather from it when she says stuff like that on the show because she never straight up says it was while working on the Star Wars films.

I've always wondered what it would be like to see an episode 7, 8 and 9, with an older Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. I think they could pull it off. It could be really mature and dark if done right; Empire taken to the next level. Too bad Lucas would be involved.

I quite liked Carrie Fisher's autobiography "Wishful Drinking". I like her writing style and how she is quite brutally honest about her mental state of mind. Short, but a good read.
