Zombies.... can get us to watch ANYTHING, right?
Us Canadians seem to like the Zombie analogy and our government takes the coming Zombie Apocalypse very seriously!:

The Victims of Voter ID Laws
In Canada, (at least in BC) we have Picture ID in the form of a Drivers License. For those who don't drive, you can get BCID (British Columbia Identification) which is much the same as the Drivers ID only without the driver's info on it.It's available to anyone over the age of 12.
Simple and easy.

Mudslide Caught On Camera In British Columbia (Canada)
Um, could you point out to me in the attached image exactly where this clearcut block is 'cause I'm not seeing it. And the grade at the slide starting point is actually quite steep. Remember this video is only a small secondary slide , not the original.

Wow. That's a pretty shallow grade for a landslide. Probably not a coincidence that the slide was following a clearcut block.

Not really. The whole west coast has been getting tons of rain for most of June and some of July. I am on vacation this month and we have been going through BC and Washington state. We missed most of the rains of June, but we have seen many highway clearing operations dealing with mudslides.
Permafrost is way up north. This place is east of the Kelowna area, where it has been 28-38 degrees C when we were there, so it was pretty damn hot. Not any permafrost there. :

Ah ha!
Just like a geographically challenged American to not know this.
Although record rains may be related as further climate crisis.

Reg Hunter Sets Us Straight On Christmas In America
Wasn't she on ER for like, 23 years? She actually thinks the US is more or less the same climate as LA...
That being said, here in Victoria (British Columbia, Canada) we only get 1 or 2 days of snow a year, and it's gone by the 3rd. It hasn't dropped below 32F except for about a week in January.

For those who care, Christie Clark (Premier of BC) has a new chief of staff. An Enbridge lobbyist.
If she is still in office when the decision is made, the outcome of the hearings is irrelevant. She will greenlight the project.
Tragic. The Government of BC, bought and paid for by the same people who purchased Stephen Harper back in 2004.

Tennis Player Makes Very Odd Noises
This study suggest that tennis players are clued into where the ball will go by the sound it makes when it strikes the racket. So, covering up that sound with your own sound effects gives you an advantage. I'm not sure the athletes themselves are often aware of why grunting (or warbling) helps them, they've just noticed that it does.
You could make an argument that it's a form of cheating, if indeed it works by depriving the opponent of one of their senses. In the same way that wearing a blinding reflective amulet would be foul play.
Seattle cop kills nonthreatening pedestrian
No idea why he wasn't charged, but it doesn't really matter. The family will sue him for wrongful death, win easily, and take everything he owns plus future earnings.
Edit: Looks like the family got $1.5 million from the city. There's also still the possibility of criminal charges.
