Biden and the June job reports
Lemme guess, you’re a Brexit guy who’s now totally against it.
It feels like Biden has divided opinion so comprehensively that the two sides can't find any common ground. They each think the other side is the work of the devil and so are unable to take legitimate concerns seriously.
Speaking from a UK perspective I don't like either side, but I see what Biden and his crew are doing around the world and they seem to be an incredibly dangerous administration. Lighting fires and inflaming tensions in countries across the world.
He's upset the Russians, the Chinese, the Indians hate him, so do most of the middle east and Latin america.
Europe has a bleak future ahead of it thanks to Biden and his energy sanction push, and no one seems to have a clue what to do about it.
I'm really starting to miss Trump.
Boris Johnson speech: what have the EU ever done for us
As uproariously hilarious and ineffective as the British government is post-Brexit vote, I wager it still got more good done for its people than the US Senate.

How Brexit could create a crisis at the Irish border
Unfortunately that's no longer an option. Unless they officially cancel Brexit, they leave the EU on 29th March 2019 - less than 8 months from now.
If they leave without making some kind of trade deal, all EU agreements are no longer valid and tariffs go to default (extremely high) levels. Without policing over the land border or the Irish sea, there's no way to stop smuggling, which not only defeats the main stated purpose of Brexit - to 'control our borders', but also has obvious significant effects on ligitimite businesses.
As for the border, no matter how it's handled in that scenario, the Good Friday agreement becomes pretty much null and void, and there are plenty of people on both sides with a vested interest in starting up the violence again.
In other words, we're in the shit, and if feet are dragged we won't pull ourselves out of it.
Or everyone can continue to drag their feet until the older generation that voted for brexit pass on.

Why European Clocks are Running Slow, and UK Clocks Aren't
That's the most Brexit thing I've ever heard: "God save the queen, and God help us all."
Amen.
John Oliver - Brexit II
The scary thing is, absolutely none of what he said about Brexit wasn't known before the vote. Also, pretty much none of it was known by the British public.
The politicians on both sides tried to fight it on slogans rather than facts, and the press did practically nothing to improve the situation. The American press get a lot of flak for partisanship, but they've got nothing on the Brits.
In fact, completely unsurprisingly, the British press came dead last out of the 33 countries in a recent EU poll on how much the people trust the press. Have a guess how much coverage this got there.
It really annoys me, and we Irish are supposed to hate the Brits.
Also: "Thatcher In The Rye". Brilliant. Still sniggering.
Also also: there are also plenty of good arguments for Brexit, but they got equally terrible coverage.

Bernie Sanders shows support for aims of Jeremy Corbyn
Pretty shocked by the result. When the exit polls suggested the Tories were going to fall short of a majority I switched off the TV, put it down to shy Conversatives and went to bed.
Must suck to be a Tory tbh. Most of them didn't want Brexit, they promised a referendum to court the euroskeptic vote... and then they were handed the mandate to kindly fuck themselves raw. Teresa, the last time that happened the Prime Minister stepped aside. Just a thought.
Also can't decide if disappointed or sort of pleasantly surprised that it seems none of the papers went with "Mayday".
Bernie Sanders shows support for aims of Jeremy Corbyn
Bob i hate to break it to you, but America has started to become a little bit of a joke in the rest of the world... Your rude, pig headed and frankly severely lacking in intelligence and personal skills president is taking you backwards. But that's no indictment on Americans, because many states have thankfully backed the climate accord, and if non-Trump aligned Americans are to blame for anything, it is only not being able to force the correct candidate through to beat Trump. If we want the drift of American political opinion in Europe these days, we have to watch late night talk shows rather than listening to the president.
Three things happened RE: Paris accord.
One - the American president has used a European stage to demand spurious money from Europe and turned them publicly into opponents rather than allies. Even the worst Brexiteers had the good grace to make that claim on smaller stages where they could be laughed at - it's banter, not a serious political point, except to Trump! Apparently friendship is now an issue of economics, so if Russia decided to start a war, America's involvement might depend on how much it costs to be involved (or who Trump's personal mates are, or what Russia has on him) despite being a key cause of war.
Two - other countries including China all came together to show international brotherhood *against Trump*. This is now Trump's position in the eyes of worldwide public opinion; Trump stands opposed to the entire rest of the world save two countries Syria and Nicaragua! America has *stepped away* from the rest of the world. So now the rest of the world is by definition leading America, showing her the way.
Three - Trump has shown us that he is not interested in listening to the best logical reasoning, the best mathematical models, from the combined talent of the best minds that this planet has produced. So he's completely unreliable.
I think even Trump's fiercest proponents must now start to admit, in private, that they didn't get what they thought they were getting. He is a psychological child with the arrogance of a rich grown man.
What a joke. Bernie approval is a death nail to any candidate. Please keep Bernie over there. He is a Joke in America.
