The thumbnail and the title are totally misleading. I thought this video would be about blue holes like the one in Belize. Instead it's about plate tectonics and the Marianas Trench.

Well, there are rewards, like any other kickstarter. What else do you expect from one of these except to see it finished, and a good feeling inside?
The sunny sandy beaches and the adventure/camaraderie of Belize are just a novel way of paying the artists for their time. We did it instead of wages... and it ended up being cheaper. Win-win-win. So like Dag, I'm promoting this mostly 'cos I want the production model to be viable!

Hmmm... 9 minutes of animation (as awesome as it may be), the honor of helping pay for another trip to Belize (?) or somewhere, and a good feeling inside for supporting the arts and "helping us create a whole new way to make animation" (making use of sunny, sandy beaches, SPF-50, and 75° water, I guess).

I've contributed to several Kickstarters, and it's possible I'm not exactly the kind of person this is aimed at, but I can't be the only one seeing this and thinking, "REALLY?".

Whenever I hear someone quote some Harvard Law prof or someone touting the idea that framers of the constitution did not mean for folks to own guns for anything but a militia, I have to simply laugh. It's obvious what they meant and if you brought back a group of school children from the Revolutionary war period and let them have look at the state of affairs of this little experiment, they'd wonder what has been put into the water supply to render seemingly intelligent people of today, hopelessly confused and gullible.

I went out and bought 40 acres that has a couple of caves on it. I did this because I love caves.

In the US when you own land, you generally own everything underneath it. Once in awhile the mineral rights are separate. Most mineral claims are associated with metal based deposits or coal. Most caves are in non-metal sedimentary deposits, so it is rare that there are mineral claims associated with caves. In some countries like Belize or Cayman Islands, all caves are owned by the government.

OK...I drove a school bus filled with folks asleep across a 50ft stretch of river at dusk in Belize onna bridge made of ties, one for each width of a tire...This crossing is tame compared to the shrivel my stretch first go provided ....(and it's said that choggie's nuts grew three sizes that night!)
