VideoSift isn't iPhone friendly (Sift Talk Post)
Since the "5.0" the site has become very mobile unfriendly. I mentioned this to @lucky760 about a week ago in the lounge so he is aware of this. I told him that I would send him a list of my issues viewing the site via iPhone. About a year ago ago I was trying to show a friend of mine a sifted vid on her Android tablet and I found it quite frustrating also. I would like the Sift to be mobile friendly.
Introduction to Board Games
King of Tokyo, Zombicide, Escape, Mansions of Madness, BSG the Board Game, Mice and Mystics (great co-operative game), X-Wing Miniatures game, Android: Netrunner (perhaps best 2 player game out there), Arkham Horror are just a few of the better games on my board game shelf... want to try 7 Wonders and many others... I play Small World, Forbidden Island, Eclipse, Ascension, and Summoner Wars on my iPad
Catan is a decent game, and does well as a gateway (I think Ticket to Ride is better, and perhaps even Pandemic)...
Love board gaming...
Snowden or NSA - Who here really committed a crime?
You know... I'll tell you what. I use my tech knowhow to avoid this, anything I don't want someone else to know, I encrypt the shit out of it. If I NEEDED to make a secure phone call, VoIP over android on an encrypted link. Have I ever needed or done it? nope, I could care less if they evesdrop on the 5 minutes of voice talk I do a month.
That however wouldn't stop me from joining any action to shut the nsa down and prevent these warrantless wiretaps. Just show me the train to hop on and I'll be there.

no love for android today
Perfect shopping experience
looks like a store we have in town called "Fred's" it's like a miniature Walmart/Kmart/Target all in 1 the size of a drug store. Groceries, Electronics, they even sell Android tablets here cheap noname android tablets that are sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow but still. All within 3 aisles of each other.
Fred's rocks when it's late night and you have the munchies, want some blank dvd+r's to burn, printer ink, tv dinners, and socks
Elysium Trailer HD
If you ever find yourself designing androids, especially for combat or constable duty, make sure the head is cosmetic only and contains no critical components.
When the enemies/rebels go to battle against them, they'll waste all their ammo and effort destroying what is essentially a hood ornament, leaving your now headless platoon fully functional against exhausted, defenseless meatbags.
gdURL.com - Direct Permalinks for Google Drive (Sift Talk Post)
I am looking at how an Android app I develop could access your service with an URL to get a gdURL in return ? Hints appreciated.
Google Plus Authorship (Sift Talk Post)
I'm using feedly already. The desktop web version wasn't to my taste but I quite like the Android version. Still it's simply not as good as Reader.
Old Reader is another choice but yesterday it was a bit busy.
CNET has an article suggesting alternatives, and the Google so long and thanks for all the fish notice suggests using Google Takeout to get your data.
I read another article which suggests Feedly, RSSowl and NewsBlur as other alternatives... and also that feedly has been quick to capitalise on this, and has put up a guide to migrating from google reader to feedly
How it Feels (through Glass)
@Deano
The sad thing is it looks like you're right about the phone calls which I think is a major mistake. It was confirmed today that Glass will tether to Android/iOS for 3G/4G data. That pretty much ends my interest in owning Glass.
I think excluding phone hardware from Glass is insanely stupid, but given that's the reality, I can't argue against the importance of integration anymore.
Hopefully in a few years they will truly integrate them into a single piece of hardware and then we will have a piece of hardware which might be worth buying. If Glass is just to be a glorified Bluetooth headset, I'd rather have contacts.
How it Feels (through Glass)
I'd like to hear what sort of integration you have in mind, because I can't think of one that would be useful.
Glass is literally an Android phone in a new form factor. I haven't seen Glass doing anything yet that my phone doesn't do, the lone exception being attach itself to my face.
If they can solve the battery problem, I think they could bring Glass to market by 2015. That's not to say more traditional phones will be instantly be replaced but Glass will be able to fully replace the phone of those who do purchase it.
I think that is rather optimistic. Phones are going to be around for quite a while.
Google are a long way from bringing a finished product to market and when they do it will be also try to complement Android.

Glass can already completely replace your phone, why would you want to carry around both?
How it Feels (through Glass)
Unfounded assertion.
This is a move to increase search traffic by making Google more convenient to use on the go, then they can make an additional fortune off the same sort of data collection they do now.
When Android was just a rumor called "Google Phone", the tinfoil hats were saying you'd have to listen to a 30 second ad before making a call, or that your calls would have commercial breaks. My guess is, 4 years after Glass finally launches, you'll look just as silly as they do.
Neat. Until the ads start showing up.
And they will...
How it Feels (through Glass)
Yep, for speccies like myself not an issue but interesting choice for 20-20 sighted people.
The key thing for this tech is the integration with Android phones.
Wait a minute... There are no glasses? Just frames?
Video Game High School Season 2 on Kickstarter (Sift Talk Post)
It's interesting that the controller is not really "disruptive". No love for us lefties as usual.
Using the tablets/phones out there as controllers makes a lot of sense.
But really that controller needs a bit of work.
These Android consoles will do well based on their cost. Sony and Microsoft have only sold about 70m units each I believe. There's scope to sell to far more people in a different part of the market.
That said I'm playing Far Cry 3 at the moment and a magnificent experience like that might not be seen too often on these new platforms.

Looks good! In the vein of Kickstarter and gaming. Anyone backing GameStick? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/872297630/gamestick-the-most-portable-tv-games-console-ever
