All of you are web users, but do you remember back when hyperlinks had underlines?
Seems like years and years ago. Now hyperlinks are getting harder and harder to see. Witness.

on firefox looks like:

back in the day it would have looked like:

anyhow, what do YOU think?

Because people have no taste.

You can make your hyperlinks stand out without underlining or making it bright blue or violet. When people have no taste, they cannot do anything elegant - elegance != invisible.

See videosift for an example of good, clean design. Props @lucky760 and @campionidelmondo

Underlined hyperlinks are aesthetically unpleasant in a grammatical sense of the term. I think the new shift from underlined links to slightly-blue/purple/whatever color that is offset from the paragraph is a great solution. I don't think the links are there to grab your attention They're there so that if you're interested you can click the link and find out more information on a topic that the writer wants to cite, in case you are an uninformed reader, or an interested reader who wants to find out more.

You can edit/create %appdata%\mozilla\firefox\profiles\<random>\chrome\usercontent.css and paste the following into it. It will force an underline on all links on all pages.

a {
text-decoration: underline !important;
}

Or, if you're running the stylish addon, you can create a blank style and paste the following into it.
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);

a {
text-decoration: underline !important;
}

The major advantage to the latter is you can easily flip it on and off via the stylish menu.

I think your eyes suck, I see them just fine. They hyperlinks in the page you linked to are in a different color (dark purple) than the rest of the text (black). I see them in the screen shots too.
