man, I said it before, and I remember the last time I did,( above here and I'll say it again) yer the cat's,fucking meow, ya need to pull out all the stops and start spreading your art around....I would venture to guess, that you resemble one of the following...

1.Autistic savant
2.NSA or clearance there and above, chumming for familiars or recruits..
C.clocking 6 figs and/or, 17 years of age and fully capable of more..

Prove me wrong baby, you need to be training school children how to survive a ride Inna centrifuge!

Btw it wasn't "odds" that i wanted, it was a scientifically presented, intelligent evaluation of what is happening and then to tell me how solar activity can affect technology and why upper atmosphere satellites are more susceptible to those effects. A scientist should never be saying "Well, if the sun went batshit crazy then the worst case scenario is...........". He should deal with facts lest he appear to be a nutjob. And the facts are:
1) What is happening?
2) What effect that can have on technology.

Note that 2) isn't anything to do with "how this might all pan out". It's a statement of facts of how electronic equipment and satellite communication can be hindered by bursts of energy or other solar emissions.

I can only repeat what i said on the thread, it's the most hate mongering fear factor old shite that i've ever heard.. i dunno where they dragged him up from but i'm sure it wasn't a university nor a list of qualified solar experts. Whispering "this is a worst case scenario BUT SHIT COULD GET REAL LOOK OUT EVERYONE BUILD A BUNKER BE SCARED OF THE SUN HE'S GOING TO THROW HIS ANCIENT TEMPER TANTRUM LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WE LOST THE TOWER OF BABEL!"

Sorry but it's absolute bollocks and i enjoyed ripping into him. If they presented me with a physics expert who used scientific terms instead of emotional terms, i'd listen and say "hmmm, interesting!" cos i actually love science especially astrophysics. But presenting me with 'some bloke' that tells me to be scared and that the sun is 'throwing a wobbler' - which i assume is a technical scientific term so i don't understand it completely, he's talking way too far above my head - is just stupid.

Don't get so worked up Danny- he repeatedly mentioned it is a WORST CASE scenario, i.e. very, very unlikely to happen- I agree he could have mentioned the odds or sth, but the fact that the sun has cycles and that things like this happened before seems rather interesting to me (and not really all that scary).

hey you - looks like you replied to me instead of oileanach on this one. just thought you might like to know

A huuuuuuge thx for posting the Arduino related video. You anwered just about every question i had when discovering it on Livesift.

Did you build this by any chance?

I agree. She deserves way more credit than the small group off the street the Today Show must have pulled in to watch her sing.

I heard this track on the radio when it first came out and I bought the album almost immediately - what an excellent piece of work! That lame ass clapping at the end is pathetic though... flogging one's album on morning TV shows is a pretty humiliating end of the business I think. I'd strongly recommend all of her stuff.
