It's all I have!

I was asked a while ago by a girlfriend (a friend who happened to be a girl), why I always want to "party" and get drunk in a social gathering, and if I don't ever get tired of it.

This was a good question, because it got me thinking. The answer sort of depressed the hell out of me, because it seem so empty. It's all I have.

How's that for fucking pathetic?

That's the way people get together, who otherwise would rarely get together. If I have to engage myself in a social gathering, the only available ones that a frequented by females are parties.

This makes me all bummed, because it makes it almost impossible to find girlfriends, who are not drunken lushes.

Anyone else caught in the same wicked maelstrom?

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Probably better to find a partner through work or school. I've never had a long term relationship come out of a party. It's just not firm footing to start off. With work or school you get to know someone before the sweaty humping starts.

Dude, that's what the intertubes are for. It's called www.nerve.com

And you go to "parties" to meet girls? Like, house parties? What are you talking about?

btw: Usually when people question your drinking, it's because of one of these two things:
1- you drink waaayyy too much
2- the person is a boring and conservative prude

Heh, I don't drink waaaay too much.. it's all special occasions. I never drink alone and stuff like that.

House parties, like small groups of friends, or bigger stuff like bars or discos. I rarely go to the latter unless its in the summertime, though.

You're really bitching about this? If the worst thing in your life is how you get to party a lot and hook up with semi-slutty women, you're leading a pretty good fucking life.

Waaaah! Too much booze and hoes in my life! Woe is me!

"Hooking up" is such a definite term, eh? I suppose I should count my blessings, but I feel empty.

How dare I feel bad, when people are starving in Africa? Well, there it is.

i find your breed fascinating
i was a mom by 19 and then a single mom by 23
i never got do any of that stuff
im extremely lucky if i go out sans children and have a drink with the boyfriend even, forget about a group of my friends, 4 times a year
and i always wonder if my friends that do actually still enjoy it ... were all pushing 30 pretty hard now... i was wondering if being a single person with disposable income and time ever gets old and lonely
i think im just being bitchy when i think things like that to make myself feel better
and i have an extremely awesome life. it just sucks for trying to date people from that other world.
maybe ill go find a starving african, i bet hed stay home with me all the time if i kept the steamer full of rice

^Hard fact: No matter which path you choose in life, you have to ditch, say, 20 others. You just have to make the best of the one you chose. And it seems to me you have, peggedbea.

Well the good news is that you're still young and beautiful. The bad news is that you won't be for long. The path you are on ends you as an old-timer with the boys down at the local, the ladies long gone home. Please understand that I regard this a distinguished path for a certain kind of gentleman. I, for one, have planned it that way. I have cultivated a broad palette for acceptable intoxicants, I live within walking distance of my favorite establishment, and have a collection of fine hats.

I also have a really fine woman and a penchant for inexpensive, time-consuming, yet rewarding pursuits. Do keep your eye open for these.
