Merry Christmas Sifters
Christmas in Australia means lots of fresh summer fruit. We bought this tray of organic mangos.
The presents have been wrapped, the turkey is brining, the Charles Darwin ornaments hung. (just kidding, no Darwin- but we do have Kali the destroyer on the tree)
I've got my cap, or kercheif- one of those. One more sleep 'till the big day. Hope you all have a great blustery day up North- after we open presents, we're heading to the beach for a swim... but I'll be dreaming of something else:

swampgirlI forgot it's summer there. But does it ever really get cold there? Looks like someone's learning their times tables. My 3rd grader is too right now
blankfistIt's 73 degrees Fahrenheit in Brentwood, MG. I think I'll open up the windows and let the warm sun in. The palm trees are green, the air is... well, the air is still smoggy, but it's warm.
I miss the seasonal changes. I miss snow.

The seasons change here- but it never snows. I do miss that. One of these years we're going to come up and do the full white Christmas. ice skating in Central Park - all that stuff.
blankfistIce skating in Central Park. Wow, I forgot about that. I lived in NY for a short stint, and I used to love skating in the Park during the Winter. Ah, memories.

Dignant_Pink says...you say summer? i guess this answers my question of semantics: in australia, is it winter in june july and august, or is summer just really cold?
