US Police Takedown Suspect - And A Few Others As Well...

This is weird to watch - The narrator is talking this up, but in fact he takes out an innocent motorist - and this is supposed to be....good?

watch and judge for yourself - I know hindsight is always 20/20 but even so...

Always with media footage you don't know what you can't see or they don't wanna show you. It may be that there was heavy traffic for miles ahead, so there was never going to be a good time to stop him. To let him continue on much further may have tempted fate for the worse. So the officers must've felt they had to make a decision and act on it, right or wrong.

Sure, there have been a fair few frightening instances of police force reported lately, but I don't think a birds eye view of this particular incident is enough to pass judgement.

It does, however, make for fun viewing!

Just let him go, there is no reason to you can and will get him later.

A couple of weeks ago I witnessed a no siren chase between an unmarked (state trooper, or federal) car and a Porsche. The badge was driving down very safely but the Porsche was in and out of lanes. Was interesting, they were going about 85- 95 during rush hour.

Criminals that get away with things... never get chased. ('Cept for OJ)

Its like chasing a guy on a Hayabusa, your interceptor will not catch him.

I remember videos like this where cops would say that it's simply not worth trying to get the bad guy; it would be too dangerous. If I were in the other car and suffered any injury I would sue the city.

"For all we know the crook slammed the brakes on the cop"

Not judging on how close the police car is driving to it, he's trying to do that.

Pretty stupid stuff fom 5-0. They're already following with a helicopter, they're not going to lose him very easily.

Or the cop could of seen the guy getting ready to barrel ass through heavy traffic and thought that spinning him out there would have been less risky than chasing him through stopped cars.

Geez, people... not everything cops do is evil. The guy was running, right? In my world, if your running from the cops, they can do whatever they want to catch you, and any damage that happens along the way ends up on your record, because you were the dumbass running.
