From YT: A middle aged Japanese man survived for two days out at sea after being swept offshore by the tsunami that followed Friday morning's massive earthquake that struck Japan's northwest.
The Associated Press reports that the man, Hiromitsu Shinkawa, said he spent two days at sea being missed by passing ships and helicopters.
The tsunami had swept him away after he and his wife had returned to their house for some of their belongings. He told the Japanese military :" Several helicopters and ships passed by, but none of them noticed me".
He was spotted on Sunday by a passing military vessel and rescued. His wife has not been found. Military officials credited calm seas and benign weather for his survival.

BoneRemakesays...I wouldnt mind knowing how many private people or corporations that are donating helicopters etc to look for survivors, surly this guy was not alone out there.
Like that Mark Cuban guy, sure he can afford to get some choppers out there.
