The Road to Serfdom - Friedrich A. Hayek

The Road to Serfdom is a book written by Friedrich Hayek (recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1974) and among the most influential and popular expositions of classical liberalism and libertarianism. This single book has significantly shaped the political ideologies of Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and the concepts of 'Reagonomics' and 'Thatcherism'. It also lead to the revival of classical liberal thinking in the West and lessening the socialist influence.

When it came to Road to Serfdom, Hayek was just being a teabagger of his time. He said that electing the Labour party in the UK after WWII ended would turn the UK into a socialist hellhole by the process depicted in this video.

The UK didn't listen, and elected Labour anyways.

Believe it or not, it didn't work out the way Hayek said it would, with forced labor and death squads, and an end of freedom and democracy.
