The Measure of a Man: Philosophy and Star Trek

The arguments about the definition of life and sentience in this episode are thought-provoking and especially relevent and poignant today. Star Trek: The Next Generation is at times a very silly show complete with bizarre sci-fi situations, corny dialogue, and bad special effects, but you can't deny that the writers came up with some pretty brilliant stuff sometimes. This episode is one of my personal favorites.

Hey, I just watched this episode. Great episode.

I think it was a bit of a contrived case though, because the "judge" was just spiteful for being spiteful, at least in how the case starts. I freaking love Next Generation.
