Spiderbait - ' Black Betty '

"Black Betty" is a 20th century African-American work song often credited to Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter as the author, though the earliest recordings are not by him. Some sources claim it is one of Lead Belly's many adaptations of earlier folk material; in this case an 18th century marching cadence about a flint-lock rifle.

I had no idea about the history of the song, just knew the '77 version...and loved it.

I would love to see a video that showed a few of the more notable cover versions - because there are many and this one isn't particularly outstanding.

You know I bet that serial abuser of cover songs, Robbie Williams has done a version. That guy is awful.
