Wow, I wonder how many there, apart from Winslet herself, actually got the joke...

I mean it doesn't really make much sense unless you see that scene from The Extras.

There was quite a big laugh from the crowd.

The joke on its own was sort of funny, but having watched the Extras clip makes it much better
So brilliant hearing those words coming out of her mouth about winning awards!

LOL, detracts from the credibility. Alsome. That's not really a holocaust joke... oh wait, there it goes. "Gag reel." Zing.

I thought it was funny without even knowing she'd been on Extras - it's basic Hollywood logic, do a big emotional film and if you press the right buttons, the awards will virtually bury you. I guess the whole "Jews controlling Hollywood" stereotype means the holocaust will press those buttons all the more.

EDIT: Yeah, Wedgie's link pretty much sums up what I was thinking. In fact I remember walking out of the cinema after watching The Pianist and thinking it had Oscars written all over it.
